lol, so funny, coz sister used to say it with a long 'a', as in Cheney. It used to irritate me. I say it as a 'short' A...as in rabbit or Granny. It comes from the Dune novels/movies. (I loved Dune novels) And I think in the first movie, Paul Atreides says it like "Chawnie".
