Interesting video detailing how all of the underground cables in the oceans allows for listening in on all communications passing through these myriad of submarined cables worldwide.
If nothing else, it's interesting just how many of these cables there are.
But, the bad part is there is no privacy anymore. The good thing is that it's makes keeping track of bad guys easier.

What it all boils down to is you can't trust any app on any app store. You'd have to compile the code yourself (and ensure you have unaltered code through comparing checksums, etc.) and that could be still be dodgy because who has the time to determine what the compiler is doing? There could be special cases buried deep inside that. Security is hard.
What it really boils down to is that NSA has the tools to break any encrypted methos devised, in time. Security isn’t hard, it’s impossible. You may be safe for a while, but it will not last. That is just the reality.
