Signal ain't all that. Evidently the NSA can read messages in the app. They did it to Tucker Carlson's account.

What it all boils down to is you can't trust any app on any app store. You'd have to compile the code yourself (and ensure you have unaltered code through comparing checksums, etc.) and that could be still be dodgy because who has the time to determine what the compiler is doing? There could be special cases buried deep inside that. Security is hard.
