A woman videotaped savagely beating up a female taco vendor in Los Angeles — and then fleeing in a purple Lexus without paying for her food — has been arrested.
Renee Hines, 36, from Bakersfield, was busted Wednesday and booked into the Los Angeles County jail on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon in connection with Sunday’s violent attack, the Los Angeles Police Department announced in a press release.
On top of her legal troubles, Hines also was fired from her job as a temporary contractor after her employer learned of the viral video.
Cops said Hines “punched and pepper sprayed” vendor Joanna Vasquez after she asked her customer to pay for the tacos that she’d ordered and eaten.
Cellphone footage captured by Vasquez’s co-worker shows Hines yanking on Vasquez’s shirt while repeatedly pummeling the much smaller woman and calling her a “bitch.” (snip)
Edin Alex Enamorado, a street vendor advocate, told the LA Times that Hines had eaten at Tacos Ortiz at least twice before and allegedly left without paying.
Hines is seen walking away from the vandalized taco stand Hines has been fired from her job as a temporary contractor after her employer learned of the attack.
On Sunday, operators of the stand recognized Hines and decided to record her, according to Enamorado — triggering the rampage.
Hines was jailed on a $30,000 bail. If convicted of the felony charge against her, she could be sentenced to up to four years in state prison.

Never interfere with hangry ghettopotamus and food during its feeding frenzy.
Nope, don't really care. Strictly addressing your uninformed comment:
since when do you pay the taco truck
Oh my, how ordinary
You’re such a little pussy.
LOL.
Custom paint alone is upwards of $10k. That and, apparently, someone mentioned embroidered seats. It’s hard for me to tell on my phone.
Big bucks there.
It’s not paint, it’s a vinyl wrap. Under $5K. If done by a “frien’”, under $1-2K for materials.
Embroidered seat covers are available cheap from China online. I can get a custom set of embroidered leather front seat covers (not as in going over the original leather, replacing it) for my Lexus for under $400.
It just isn’t that expensive. I would be extremely surprised if that thing cost more than $10K
What gives it away as being a wrap? I would have guessed it was just a cheap $1K paint job.
That’s a reasonably well done (in terms of consistency) matte finish. An actual matte finish job that good is at least $7-12K. Cheap $1K paint jobs don’t look like that. There’s also a couple hints when they open the door.
Most non-factory matte paint jobs are actually wraps these days.
Or rather, it’s matte look. There is a gloss on top of the matte that is characteristic of a lower end vinyl wrap. If you go to a shop that does wraps and you look at a sample of the wrap material of that type, you’ll see it. It’s pretty distinctive.
His father did
lol
I see where you’re coming from with the matte finish making it more likely to be a wrap. Makes sense.
