Has The "EV Revolution" Finally Reached Peak Idiocy? Looks Like It Has
You Tube ^ | Uncle Tony's Garage

There's been a lot of EV news lately, and unfortunately for those looking to promote the complete switchover from ICE to pure battery power in the near future, none of it appears to be very promising. Here's an overview of some of these events along with a common sense solution that in the long run should make everyone happy.

The end game is to deny all personal vehicles to the Serfs, while they pay for the entire costs of roadways and vehicles for the Ruling elite and their Thugs.

You will walk, and say you love it.

Good investment. Have you looked at new car prices? Dealers are getting significantly more than MSRP.

EV's aren't for everybody. But here's why my wife and I like our EV....

Just don't park or charge it in your garage!

Beyond my comment # 19 about an EV being part of a family/financial security thing, there are a few things EV's bring to the table for someone who has extra money to spend on niceties.

1. It's nice to wake up to a full "tank" by charging at home. I basically spent more total time in a year gassing up my ICE pickup back when it was my main transportation vehicle than I do charging my EV for a year at road-side chargers. Of course, that's including the 5-7 minute refuel I did with the ICE pickup once or twice per week even just for local driving, which I don't have to do with an EV for local driving.
2. Same for charging at a hotel (at least the hotels that have a complementary charger, like the ones that have a complementary breakfast).
3. They have zippy acceleration. For all the talk about EV's going through more tires from being heavier than ICE cars, I'd bet it's more from EV drivers stomping on the accelerator. LOL

Some bad things, though about EV's, even from our driving experiences (meaning even for those of us who live in a warm climate and have other reasons to be in favor of EV's).
A) You have to stop every 200 miles or so to charge. That's fine with my wife asking to stop every 200 miles anyway to walk around 10-15 minutes (which is how long it takes to charge the EV at a fast charger). But I'm sure whenever I take a trip without my wife (something I haven't done since we got the EV) I'll take the ICE pickup.
B) Trips in areas new to you since getting the EV have to be planned with chargers in mind, much like planning a trip with maps before GPS. Modern day EV forums and apps like Plugshare make that easy and give good tips by fellow EV owners (i.e. slow charging, or good charging and lighting even at night with a quick bite to eat across the street while charging, etc.). But I'd be lying if I said making a trip in an EV can be done as spontaneously as with an ICE car.
C) Some trips simply can't be done quickly in an EV (charging deserts where only slow chargers are present for hundreds of miles). I wouldn't get an EV as an only vehicle. Nor would I get an EV if areas like that are where you regularly drive to/through. Conversely, much of the east cost from north to south has a dense population of fast EV chargers (easy to do a road trip from Alabama to east Canada in an EV, especially since we don't go to Canada in the winter when it's too cold for our comfort and for EV performance).

Proterras stock tanked 85% today due to chapter 11. It is now at $.24 per share. Now is the time to but it up. You will reap big money in 6 months.

From “Uncle Tony’s Garage” You Tube Channel

Great channel for muscle car motorheads. He is very knowledgeable of that era. Especially Mopar stuff.

You seem to have a rational viewpoint on their plusses/minuses. IF someone needs/wants a second vehicle AND can afford the premium price and deal with the obstacles to use (vs. a decent used ICE vehicle), an EV would be a reasonable option. I do hear that folks really enjoy the rapid acceleration.

Also Graveyard Carz. Mark Warman’s another Mopar maven. Plus he restored a couple of the Dukes of Hazzard Chargers like they were in the show, with the Confederate Flag on The roof, woketards be damned. As much as I enjoy my 64 Impala I miss my 1968 Charger thanks to these guys πŸ™„πŸ™‚

EVs are intended for the wealthy after the unwashed masses are denied ICE vehicles and outpriced out of EVs ... the unwashed will be forced to ride public transportation in the 15 minute cities.

Another day, another EV company goes bust.

It's the Solyndra plan.

Your situation and choices are about 95% aligned to ours.

Works really well, actually.

Except we have a third vehicle, ICE, which is my wife’s “always wanted a red Porsche” anniversary gift a few years ago. The right used Porsche is not pricey, and we have found it to be incredibly reliable and it gets about 25.5 MPG, when driven by my wife ... Me? Um, a good bit lower ;-)

I have a 2016 Honda Accord Sport and on the raise edge of the trunk lid the paint/clear coat is fading away. The rest does look ok. Maybe one of those miracle cleaners will bring back the showroom shine.
