Another new one:
“Unhoused” vs. “Homeless”
Used to be called Bums...
Spouse is a ‘gender neutral’ word preferred by leftists. As much as possible I use gender specific words in my communication.
Eg actors and actresses instead of just actors. Rush did the same too (anchorette, reporterette…)
Good example.
New!
New?
Please elaborate.
The pronoun “they” is plural, so, no, it does not make sense. Use the default masculine or say “he or she.”
The left uses “they” along with their stupid preferred pronouns nonsense.
Traditionally, “he” has been used when referring to an individual whose sex is not known. Then feminists began insisting on “he or she”, and it wasn’t long before people who thought that was cumbersome began using “they” in that situation. By now, so many people have been misusing “they” as a singular pronoun that some think it’s correct usage. It is not. “They” is plural, period.
The trouble is that English doesn’t have a widely accepted singular neuter personal pronoun for the third person. “One” sounds stilted, and “it” is used for non-human entities. People have tried to coin such pronouns, but none has caught on.
Oh well, the language does change; look at even Middle English. Sooner or later, this will become generally accepted if it’s not already, but not by me.
Don’t say gender; say, sex.
I just call them gun mufflers to underscore the absurdity of the legal BS you have to go through to acquire one in the U.S.
on the written page “s/he” has also been used.
.
I’ve seen that a few times. One of the ones that never took hold.
Don’t say transsexual. Say transvestite.
I usually use the post “New!” (pronounced “nyew”) to react to some great scientific or medical discovery.
This article is roughly equivalent to such a discovery.
I prefer the term "Frankensexual"
Now that some men want to be women, how can there even be a patriarchy?
“Rust belt” = “(Former / declining) manufacturing centers in the American Midwest”
“Rust belt” = “(Former / declining) democrat manufacturing centers in the American Midwest”
I never say “misinformation” or “disinformation”.
I say LIES or PROPAGANDA, depending on the context.
I want to slap the crap out of anyone on the right who uses the word misinformation in any context.
When you use your enemy’s terminology, you have lost the battle.
Hobos, tramps, stew bums...
