Spouse is a ‘gender neutral’ word preferred by leftists. As much as possible I use gender specific words in my communication.
Eg actors and actresses instead of just actors. Rush did the same too (anchorette, reporterette…)
Couldn’t bring myself to refer to a male’s spouse as a husband.
