My old ears could not make out anything that was being said. It just was garbled syllables that wouldn’t form words.
I’m sure it was hilarious.
Late this afternoon my power cord stopped charging my computer. It already had some splits in it which I’ve reinforced with electricians tape. So, I unplugged everything and carefully unwrapped the tape. Bare wires with splits all around the casing.
This is really bad news. The power cord is the worst thing engineered by Apple. It doesn’t last diddly-squat. And I don’t think I can get it on this island. Still have to figure out a replacement.
The trouble is, I came last year with a cord and a back-up cord. The first one split and so I moved to the back-up. The back-up is now split wide open.
So, with electrician’s tape, I patched the casing back over the bare cord. Then, I spit open a plastic straw lengthwise. I finagled that straw around the electician’s tape patch on the cord and I have totally taped that sucker down with more electrician’s tape. I finally duct-taped that power cord along the side of my laptop so it doesn’t wiggle and get worn in a new place.
It is charging my laptop now. I hope this lasts for a little while.
Nice MacGyver-type fix there!
I find that if you listen to audio with earphones plugged into the laptop, the sound improves immensely.
Especially if it sounds “muddled” to the naked ear.

Fox News is hosting the GOP debate in Wisconsin. During this build up segment, Martha MacCallum introduces the “random Republican voters” in Wisconsin who will watch the debate. Except, well… there’s a little problem. MacCallum introduces Chris Lawrence as a “Wisconsin GOP voter” who seemingly supports Ron DeSantis. However, MacCallum fails to mention that Chris Lawrence actually works for the Koch Network, who have recently pledged to spend $70 million to defeat President Trump.
Not only has Chris Lawrence worked for the Koch Network for the past 9 years, he is also the Senior Field Director for the Koch group Americans for Prosperity. In essence, Lawrence is a political operative planted in the group by Fox News to support Ron DeSantis and make it appear like he is an innocuous voter. Fox News and Martha MacCallum should be embarrassed, but they won’t be.”

This is a MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2012), and I’m hanging onto it for as long as I can. Already, though, some programs will not run on it because it is so old. It has been a workhorse.
I had to save that meme.
Think I will be needing it in the not-too-distant future.
