This is sad. Paul had his problems, but we all do.
He made a lot of people laugh. I don't recall him voicing any politics or sexuality issues in public.
RIP.

His humor was annoying. He was a perv and considering his TV life vs his real life, I would keep him away from kids altogether. That said, RIP.

How would Pee Wee Herman’s endorsement of a politician or issue be a plus?

I’ve seen a couple of films where he had serious roles, actually not recognizable in those films until you looked twice. He was good in those roles, wish he had gotten the opportunity to do more.

He was a very funny guy. I saw his TV show once, after he’d been arrested. It had innuendos that you might not want kids to hear, and that sounded really dark and pointed after his arrest. Still, I remember him on Letterman in the old days. Very entertaining. RIP

Didn’t he do The Jiggly Jiggly in the back of a movie theater? You mean that Pee-Wee Herman?

He had that incident in the movie theater where he was caught...in a handy way. But about 6 months later, there was some awards show or something and he came out in his Pee Wee outfit, looked at the silent crowd, and said, "Heard any good jokes lately??" The audience busted up, and the tension, which had been hovering over the crowd, was broken.
He played "The Spleen" in "Mystery Men," a pretty good superhero movie, even if it did have that annoying leftist woman in it, you know, the one who's so forgettable.
I had a kid in my class who acted like him, even though he'd never seen any of Pee Wee's show. Uncanny. RIP, Pee Wee, and say hi to Large Marge for us.

Despite his problems, he provided a lot of entertainment to our kids (and us parents) back in the day. RIP, Pee Wee! Thanks for the laughs.
