After the success of 2023’s The Little Mermaid, Disney’s next live-action project is a remake of Snow White — but not everyone is excited about the new movie.
A live-action version of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs has been in development since at least 2016, but production didn’t kick off in earnest until 2021. In June of that year, Deadline reported that Rachel Zegler had landed the role of the titular princess, who made her Disney debut in 1937. (Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was Disney’s first full-length animated film.)

“People are making these jokes about ours being the PC Snow White, where it’s like, yeah, it is — because it needed that,” Zegler, who is of Colombian and Polish descent, told Vanity Fair in October 2022. “It’s an 85-year-old cartoon, and our version is a refreshing story about a young woman who has a function beyond ‘Someday My Prince Will Come.’”

It starts with a lie. The live action The Little Mermaid was not a success.
When Snow White no longer has a complexion as white as snow, and the seven dwarves are no longer dwarves…when she no longer wishes for a prince, but wants to lead a rebellion against her stepmother…it is not even remotely the same story and they should stop pretending that it is.
This is an attempt to erase the past. They want the next generation to not even know about the classic story. THIS will be the REAL story of Snow White from now on because they said so.

If diversity is such a strength, why don’t these other cultures have a deep tradition of stories to draw on? Why must they adapt ones that offend them?

A couple of decades ago there was a restaurant called Sambo’s and it used a cartoon from the story as a brand. It was literally run out of business. The family of the woman who posed for the Aunt Jimima syrup photo was still receiving royalty payments. The left put a stop to that at and Uncle Ben’s because...racism or something.
I seem to remember eating at a Sambo’s when I was a kid. My recollection is it was similar to Shoney’s.

Snow White belongs to Disney, they can make her Snow Purple if they wish.
All you need is 10-15% of the overall population to somewhat consistently buy your product(s) ..and your company will likely survive.
Probably some companies survive on much lower percentages. Personally I’d be more than satisfied to make 10 cent profit x 30 million..a year.

Snow White is part of the culture. The White refers to White skin. The left hates American culture and White skin. Therefore the American left is passionate about transforming Snow White into Snow Brown.
Can’t have kids reading about a beautiful White girl in a country where White is hated and being replaced.

Bingo, it’s just as essential a part of the “Great Replacement” as importing millions of 3rd worlders. It won’t matter if the country gets more brown, if those brown people adopt our culture and then refuse to take part in the great experiment.
