Bud Light's latest commercial showing a woman eating a watermelon in the middle of a storm sparked a wave of mockery on Sunday as viewers said the clip was representative of the brand's own calamitous marketing department.
The ten-second clip posted to the beer brand's Twitter page shows a a female picnic-goer spooning large bits of melon into her mouth as wind sends paper plates and cans of Bud flying.
She remains seated as though nothing at all is going on around her. The video is captioned: 'It's fine, this is fine,' likely a reference to a popular meme of a dog sipping coffee as his home goes up in flames.
There was a scathing reaction in the comments section and viewers joked that the commercial could be 'an inside look at Bud's corporate office.'
Bud Light's parent company Anheuser-Busch has $27bn wiped off its market value since its disastrous partnership with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney in April. The brew's sales have nosedived and Mexican lager Modelo has now replaced it as America's best selling beer.
The reaction on Twitter was swift and scathing, coming from users who remain upset at the brand for its partnership with Mulvaney and subsequent lack of a sincere apology.
'We're getting an inside look at Buds corporate office today. After talking with representatives, they say 'It's fine, this is fine!'' wrote one user.
'Is this a video of your marketing department,' wrote Seth Weathers, who has since launched a conservative rival to Bud Light called: Conservative Dad's Ultra Right Beer.
'This brand seems to have hit rock bottom...' wrote another user.

They knew what they were getting into!
Bud Light views its customers as low iq bumpkins from flyover country
Why watch tv?
Get rid of it.
Desperate attempt to woo back drinkers with a ‘We Are Family’ melody and modified lyrics.
AT least the Clydesdales can take a break.
Eating it with a spoon smacks of white supremacy.
And a band of buxom bikini clad girls in a wagon dispensing kegs of Modelo pulled by Clydesdales driven by buxom bikini clad girls. Frat boys optional.
Maybe.
Meanwhile, why is the former marine, former cia operative, new york neerdowell still ceo of bud lite? You would think that after costing $27 billion in market cap somebodies not too far up the food chain at ambev would at least want his head on a pike. The fact that he remains is a bigger mystery than the mulvaney ad campaign.
still waiting for the dylan commercial
AB are a bunch of transphobes
Their CEO ought to learn to code...maybe take a class with the pervert. Their CEO might like weeners.
“If you have a good product, be serious about the commercial.”
It’s millennials. They can’t be serious about anything. It’s not in their constitution.
I think they need to pull out the big guns to address this fiasco.
Bring back Spuds Mackenzie.
No matter what they do, at this point they will be attacked and mocked...
Had they shown a backbone and made a decision back when this started they would have had a chance, now, the customers they have lost are gone and never coming back.
They have at this point quadrupled down on their stupidity, rather than owning up to it from the start.
The CEO is still out there saying things like they did nothing wrong.... There is absolutely no leadership at this company.
They won’t disappear, but they will never recover fully from this.
They can’t market themselves out of this...
They should have openly fired this woman right away, they should have admitted that getting in bed with a man who pantomimes being a woman, largely to an audience of children and teenagers on social media should never have happened.
However to do that, they have to admit the truth, these freaks are freaks and they will never do that.
So they tried to walk the middle and wound up getting run over.
This should have been over in 24 hours with a strong leadership who actually cared about their business, and basic understanding of their market and customers, but that was never the focus. It was about appeasing a mentally ill minority, and virtue signaling...
Whoa, easy there! You don't want to go nuclear right away.
I saw the commercial. I'm not sure non-internet-junkies would understand the reference but for us - and yeah, I mean pretty much everyone on this board - it was pretty funny. Yep, that's Blight's management right there eating a watermelon in the middle of a storm. "This is fine," is self-mockery. It would have been brilliant two months ago. Now I think it's a little too late.
Notice that nobody in the commercial is drinking the beer?
👍👍
😆😂😜
You are 100% correct
Good point
I bet she spit out the seeds too.
