I've not seen a conspiratorial thread posted (yet) that questions this phenomenon, and I think we should talk about this.

A number of arsonists have been arrested. Their motives are not reported by Canadian authorities. Many of the fires began virtually simultaneously with no apparent reason.

Hold on now. You are saying Turpentine comes from trees???

Next thing you will be saying is that Rubber comes from trees.
That cork comes from trees and Asprin comes from Willow bark

Your chart ended in 2021. What is the current area buned? What is the number of fires? What is the expected area burned from these.

I will say I have never saw smoke like this here in Indiana.

Don’t believe everything you see on Twitter or YouTube.
I have seen the same video. What they edited was the storm front that went through the area prior to the clear skies.

These eastern fires started in places where there are no roads. Logging roads are gated off to keep people out in the summer so that they do not accidentally start a fire.

Do you have a link to support your statement that “arsonists have been arrested”?

It is all over the news hear in Cleveland. Day 3 of really bad air. Was better this morning, but right now 2”32pm...don’t go outside.

A prepper I follow is a Canadian and he’s been following world events and he says they have not even hit fire season yet up there.

Been in constant haze most of the late spring/summer so far. My veg garden is green, green , green and not setting bloom to produce vegetables. Lettuce hasn’t bolted yet either, today it looks sick. Close examination of the leaves on many plants reveals ash fallout. You don’t see it in the air, but it is accumulating on the plants and leaves like a very fine dust. Supposed to get rain tomorrow. How much of this will turn to acid rain?

One would think that Trudeau would be addressing this fire and what they are doing, if anything, to put it out.

Consider how a single large forest fire from perfectly natural causes dumps more of the dreaded CO2 into the atmosphere than could be saved by using scores of windmills to generate electricity or smugly driving EVs.

I live west of Cleveland and it has gotten bad this week. We had a couple of heavy thunderstorms here last weekend, and the smoke got mixed up with the resulting water vapor to make a depressing view outside my house, even though it was supposedly cloudless.

I saw a map that shows the only extreme fire danger within 500 miles of here around James Bay, which sticks down from Hudson’s Bay between northeast Ontario and northwest Quebec. Apparently the fire danger in Nova Scotia has abated.

Could possibly be an eco terrorist taking advantage of climatic conditions.

Has it rained much in those areas?

I've lived in the Northeast all my life too.

In northeastern NJ and the last thirty on The Jersey Shore.

We haven't had much rain here for a while until recently but conditions are dry and I live on the outskirts of a huge pine forest , areas of which about two weeks ago were burning forcing a lot of people into my hospitals ER with respiratory problems.

They've been contained and put out but it stunk around this area for a couple of weeks.

The policy has always been to let the fires in the bush burn.
They concentrate on protecting the towns and businesses/structures.

There is a whole lot of nothing in the area of Quebec where most of these fires are still burning.

Go to Google Earth and put in Chibougamau, Quebec. Then scan north of there. There are not any towns. Just hunting and fishing camps which are typically accessed by float planes.

I live near Cleveland Hopkins Airport. You can’t see the planes landing or taking off. I was shocked when I drove by it on my way to see a client.

Northern Lower Penninsula of Michigan here; we’ve been dealing with the smoke for weeks, but the last few days have been the worst. My deck is covered in tiny specks of white ash.

If you follow your first link the fires that are to the east of James Bay and Hudson Bay will burn all summer.
Nobody lives up there so there is no danger to people/settlements. They will only go out if they get rain.

If you scroll in on Quebec almost every town in Quebec north of the cities are sawmill towns. They only exist because of the mill located there.
