The policy has always been to let the fires in the bush burn.
They concentrate on protecting the towns and businesses/structures.
There is a whole lot of nothing in the area of Quebec where most of these fires are still burning.
Go to Google Earth and put in Chibougamau, Quebec. Then scan north of there. There are not any towns. Just hunting and fishing camps which are typically accessed by float planes.
I guess second hand smoke is back in vogue.
