What an immoral man. Safety wouldn’t be an issue if it’s just bobbing along just underneath the surface, but it should be an issue when you’re going 12,500 feet underwater where the atmospheres are about 100,000 times the surface.
I hope he goes to jail. His actions cost 5 lives.

One person could stretch his legs at a time, and the man responsible was inside, trapped with the 4 victims, nasty business.

From some earlier reporting and discussion on FR, I am increasing curious about the dissimilar materials used--carbon fiber, titanium, glues, which as was noted, expand and contract differently as circumstances change. And mix that with it never apparently being tested to see real world results, not just engineering modeling, and considering fatigue over time, this increasingly sounds like an accident just waiting to happen.
Then again, it could be simply that the wireless Playstation controller crapped out. What was their backup, if any?

But did they get to see the titanic? Maybe they were so excited to see, they decide to stay longer

Four of the people on board could take measures to reduce the oxygen consumption by 20%.

Stockton Rush, OceanGate’s CEO, said, “You know, there’s a limit. At some point safety just is pure waste. I mean if you just want to be safe, don’t get out of bed. Don’t get in your car. Don’t do anything. At some point, you’re going to take some risk, and it really is a risk/reward question.
He's talking about diminishing returns when investing in safety for a trip to the bottom of the sea floor. He's not wrong - with 2023 technology, there's no way to make a trip to see the remains of the Titanic much safer. It's going to be dangerous no matter how much you spend. The adult men who went with him undoubtedly understood the risk, with the possible exception of the 19 year old who went with his father.

I think it was Attack,down,down,up,Fire,back,back

I think I can do this just as safely by breaking the rules.”
Apparently not.

I find it ironic that a doomed vessel went toward the bottom of the ocean to visit a doomed ship.
Fitting if the vessle with the chewy nugat center was resting along side the Titanic.
To: nickcarraway
According to [Stockton Rush's] claim, he learned the vessel was built to withstand a certified pressure of 1,300 meters, although OceanGate planned to take passengers to 4,000 meters. At 4,000 meters there will be two tons of pressure pressing on each square inch of the carbon fiber hull.
Most likely the little vessel was crushed like a ping-pong ball run over by a Mac truck.
Engineering arrogance may have cost five human lives in this Quest to visit The Titanic.
