Treat Williams died unexpectedly Monday following a motorcycle accident in Vermont. He was 71.
SNIP
“He was killed this afternoon. He was making a left or a right [and] a car cut him off,” he said. “I’m just devastated. He was the nicest guy. He was so talented.”

Authorities stated that around 4:53 p.m., “a southbound 2008 Honda Element […] attempted to turn left into a parking lot.” The initial investigation detailed that the Element “stopped, signaled a left turn, and then turned into the path of a northbound 1986 Honda VT700c motorcycle operated by Williams.”

Loved him in “Flashpoint” with Kris Kristofferson. Especially his joke about the guy driving around with a bunch of penguins in his back seat. RIP Treat.
1886?
One of my kids bought a motorcycle a couple years ago and is thinking of upgrading. He wants me to buy his old one.
I’ve only driven a motorcycle one time, about 40 years ago. Do you think at 60 I should take up a new hobby?
I think his most recent role was in Chesapeake Shores.
He was a good actor who shunned the Hollywood crowd/lifestyle by living in Utah & Vermont
We are watching Everwood on Free TVee. I knew it was old, but not that old.
A Honda VT700C is not a donorcycle.
A Honda CBR1000 is a donorcycle.
“Donorcycle” has been a thing for decades. Chill...it’s not derogatory of victim.
I'm a fan of seat belts, but am amazed that it's illegal to be in a car without wearing a seat belt while it's perfectly legal to ride a motorcycle that offers no protection whatever from the laws of physics.
Not where I live. And certainly not in most of California
Now that you know motorcyclists find the term degrading and insulting, will you continue to use it?
Some guy gets toasted by an INATTENTIVE CAR DRIVER...
You're getting your panties in a twist over an initial report from his rep? With an account where he's not even sure whether he was turning right or left?
Sit down.
Maybe some people need to understand context first and be automatically offended second. Drive defensively and listen instead of judge.
of course there are irresponsible motorcycle riders but my guess is most of the fatal accidents are caused by drivers of cars who are oblivious...
RIP
“Cages” are cars, trucks, things with doors on them.
Some people just do not look for motorcycles.
= = =
One of the findings in the Hurt Report is that people who do not ride, or have friends or family that ride, do not see motorcycles.
My 16 year old son was an ‘organ donor’.
The vehicle used to accomplish this feat was a ‘91 Dodge Neon in which he was a belted passenger. Its possible he would have survived if he’d been wearing a helmet, though given the extent of his injuries wouldn’t have been much of a life.
The state’s accident reconstruction estimated the car’s speed was 19 mph when it hit the pole on the passenger side.
Personally I don’t find the term ‘Donorcycle’ offensive. Crude and myopic perhaps, but not offensive.
Check out “Why Would I Lie?” I remember it from many years ago.
He also had another 90s series that came on WB after ‘’Seventh Heaven.’’ Who can refresh my memory to the name of the show?
