Republican presidential candidate Ron DeSantis raised eyebrows Monday with his apparent criticism of former President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court appointments.
The Florida governor stated on the Hugh Hewitt Show that Donald Trump’s picks for the Supreme Court — Justices Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett — pale in comparison to Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito. DeSantis then claimed that although he appreciates the work of all three, he would select more ideologically conservative justices as president

When he served in Congress, the House remained in Republican control. It wasn't until he left to run for Governor, that the House went to the Democrats.
Could he do better on S.C. Senators? When will he attack Tim Scott, and Lindsey Graham?
Yes. Its the company he keeps. Sad.
You screen name says “Gop DC Globalists are the evil”...so is Trump a liberal Globalist, or what?
Most of the people here who denigrate Trump were either anti-Trumpers to begin with, or plain, old malcontents, who aren't happy with anything. They are fickle, and have a short attention span, moving onto the next shiny candidate because they think they will wonders, and make things all better. But in the end, they will end up disappointed again, blame that candidate for not living up to their expectations, and move on again to the next bright star that shows up. As for me, Trump has never abandoned us, and I will never abandon him as long as I'm still on this earth.
Of course he can’t produce a list of 20 names he would choose from like Trump did. 😏
Yes Trump’s picks were so bad Roe v Wade got overturned. 😆
You said and showed it. Thanks.
Trump again thought with his peepee and listened to that group of liars who come out with their list and think they are the only ones with an opinion. I said back then that he should have let Mark Levin pick them, not Hugh Hewitt.
His draft number is not the issue. He could have chosen to volunteer after he completed his education - he didn’t. Whatever you think of DeSantis - he did choose to volunteer.
What branch did you serve Fury?
Oh for Christ's sake, condemn everyone then who chose not to enlist during the Vietnam War, but got an education instead, whether they had a high draft number or not. You are singling out one man when thousands in the same situation made the same decision. Are you that anal when it comes to other candidates?
Oh please.
I am talking about those folks running for high elected office.
And I was clear about no problem first getting an education - and then serving.
It’s a relevant issue because of the critical remarks some are making about the characterization of the military service of DeSantis. If they keep bringing up his military service, expect President Trump not choosing to serve to be an issue.
USAF - AD
USA - NG
And you?
And frankly not sure how my military service or the military service of any FReeper is relevant in this discussion.
The Viet Nam war ended when I was still in high school.. I grew up near Ft. Wood.. my father worked on base and said the military was no place for a girl.. so I did not volunteer ..
Apparently you do not mind. Gird yourself, because if your military hero is the nominee, the loyal opposition are going to paint him as a water-boarder bar none.. they already have some of his captives telling their tales..
Thanks and I would tend to agree with your father’s assessment.
And your viewpoint is just as valuable and worth reading as any other FReeper, regardless of military service.
Had several friends who branched Engineer go to USAES for training. Never heard many complaints about Leonard Wood.
Re: 58 - Agreed regarding playing politics with military service.
What Kerry did regarding his characterization of his service was dishonorable.
I believe McCain’s service was honorable - and he was also a skeezy politician. I did not like President Trump’s characterization of McCain’s service in regards to military service members being captured.
And DeSantis is not my hero. I want a vigorous, contested primary with tough questions for all.
