Hrafi is not cancer free.
Osteosarcoma kills without exception and can’t be “ cured, just delayed. :(
Not if but when and now he’s my only companion.
When it finally does take him, I’ll have to face it alone and I’m just broken by the prospect.
I don’t even know if my house fire insurance policy is still going to be good as I have no idea where Lenny put it.
Joint policy with me taking over or what?

I did call the state and yes he stopped my beneficiary protection years ago and no more pension checks.
I can’t carry this much.

I’m sorry I must’ve misread about my Hrafi. This is hard for me to say but you need to stop dwelling on all the gloom and doom that stacked up on you right now. I know it’s tough to read it but it’s bringing you down even further and I speak from experience. So basically what I’m saying is that You need to go into Pitbull mode when dealing with the insurance/banks/title companies etc. With the stress on You right now it will probably help to get things completed.
When my dad passed away I went into a major drone mode. I focused on taking care of mom making sure that the living trust was adhered to Including car titles property titles bank accounts all that kind of stuff insurance accounts. Aside from doing those things I blocked off the kitchen with me in it and told everybody whatever they want to eat tell me and I’ll make it for them other than that I stayed in His Workshop. I slept on the last project He finished, a Massage Table with a face slot. That worked well as I tend to sleep facedown. I had very little if any emotion for several years l. Then one day I lost it for several months and was not a pleasant person to be around.
Did Y’All have a Will or Living Trust of any kind ? Joint bank account(s), vehicle title, insurance policy (You need to go through the house from top to bottom, North, South, East and West to find this stuff. Look in the shop and garage, storage shed etc. Any and Everywhere.) marriage certificate ? You should be able to get insurance policy information. If there’s a Claim already going on the fire there’s no reason for the insurance company to not take care of things for You. (Other than they never want to pay out anything, ever.)
If I may, What’s up with the beneficiary protection thing ? You should be able to get Military/VA/Social Security Surviver and Death (a lousy $255 IIRC) Benefits and Your or His SS Retirement Funds whichever is greater, as far as I know. Maybe someone else here can help out with this stuff.
You have a Big Family here at Free Republic that will help if they know some details.

Dear salamander, so sorry for your losses and difficulties. I’ve lost a husband unexpectedly as well, plus beloved pets. The grief never goes away completely but it does get better. Now is the time to focus on Savior Jesus, he will carry you through. If you haven’t already, contact social security so they may process your husband’s death benefit. It’s not a lot but it helps. I’ll keep you in my prayers.
Grief Due To Loss Of A Loved One
Loving Father, I am finding it so hard to even get up out of bed to start the day, knowing that I have to face it alone and without the one I love so dearly. I know that without Your grace and sufficiency I could never get through the day, but I thank You that You have promised to be with me and to provide me with Your strength for today as well as bright hope for tomorrow.
I can’t imagine tomorrow being anything but a day filled with pain, as I do not have my loved one beside me, but I ask that in Your grace You will give me the strength to get through today, step by step, knowing that You are there to carry me, even when my heart seems to fail from the grief and pain that I am going through.
Thank You. that You have promised to carry our pain and thank You that Your grace is sufficient for every eventuality in our lives. Give me the strength to cope with the loneliness I feel and help me to move forward in my life-plans, knowing that You are with me, to support and strengthen.
Give me hope for tomorrow, for my hope and my trust is in You, Lord. Hold me close I pray, and thank You for always being with me and the great comfort that I have in knowing You, as my own dear Saviour and friend.
