The New England Journal of Medicine has been strongly criticized for publishing an academic paper calling for medical students to be taught in racially-segregated groups, with the idea condemned as 'morally abhorrent'.
The article, written by seven academics, doctors and students at the University of California, San Francisco, was published by the esteemed journal on April 27.
It calls for 'new approaches' to teaching - namely, dividing students based on the color of their skin.
'The approach tailors areas of focus to each identity group to supplement and differentiate the education received in racially integrated spaces, enabling participants to progress more effectively through the next stages of learning,' the authors write.
They argue that segregating students - 'as part of a broader antiracism and antioppression curriculum' - allows different groups to discuss their own experiences without fear.
'Founded on legacies of colonialism and racism, medical education has historically centered White learners and continues to perpetuate structural racism,' they write.
'Pedagogical approaches often center White learners and ignore the differential impact of content on BIPOC learners (Black, Indigenous, or people of color) with personal experiences of racism that are nuanced and have been informed by interactions and observations over their lifetimes.'

How about K-12 as well?
Democrats have always been the segregationists. In the words of Democrat Governor George Wallace, "Segregation today . . . segregation tomorrow . . . segregation forever."
What do you mean coming from the other side? Democrats have always been the segregationists, ever since Republicans took their slaves away.
First law of Social Sciences...
Two groups of people whose members are...
1. Easily identifiable as belonging to one or the other group, and,
2. whose average group IQ is significantly different (say about one standard deviation)
... will never be able to peacefully coexist together.
So what’s the solution?
As an Ashkenazi Jew, I’m smart enough to avoid that discussion.
Another example to believe everything they state.
There are a lot of highly qualified and capable black doctors. I have worked with some for years, and you can take it from me that it’s a fact.
The Supreme Court made its decision in 1954 to require integrated schools based on “new discoveries in psychology” which supposedly showed that legal segregation “creates an indelible mark of inferiority”. That claim attracted 8 votes and no dissents. Supposedly there were not 5 votes to rule based on equal protection/ Amendment XIV - but it doesn’t matter, because that was almost 70 years ago and we are living in a different time with different problems.
It is unquestionable that the project of demolishing black children’s schools and placing them in white children’s schools sent a message - the message being, “there’s something wrong with being black, and we desire and expect you to become more like white people by sitting next to white children and learning from their example”.
It’s fair to say that the outcome of this gigantic experiment in manipulating child psychology has not produced the desired result.
Black people are not defective white people. Rounding up black children and sending a message “go learn how to be from these nice white people” was wrong then, and it’s wrong now.
Black parents who want all black learning environments for their children are smart, and they should have every right to arrange for it.
These conservative posts “Look, look, segregation! Bad! Dems are the real racists! are so stupid. Creating black spaces for black learning, black recreation, black celebrations denies white people nothing, and it’s ridiculous to claim that it does.
Terms of Service?
Yes jews had that problem where ever they went.
Ashkenazi Jews found the right solution - establish and defend their own state, ie, SEPARATION.
I wonder how long it will be before blacks and whites come to the same realization. It took jews a couple millenia.
It’s either that or an ever increasing dystopian existence.
Many Jews opposed that idea, because they felt it would diminish worldwide Jewish influence, especially when it came to spreading socialism. That's why I always point out, that there are plenty of Jews who have no love for Israel.
Obamacare already had within it segregation by race.
It has within it something to the effect that your doctor should be the same race/identity as you so they understand you or something like that.
But we had to pass it to find out what was in it.
Just segregate schools and be done with it
Less distraction
Thanks
Conquer divide…more of the Devils desire.
The truth of the Bell Curve would be exposed.
That would be the ‘outrageous’ result.
The right thing would be to divide by performance only and then ignore the ‘Bell Curve’ because there WILL always be outliers anyway.
That is what America use to be…it would bring the best out.
That’s a new one for me.
There are certainly anti-Zionist Jews, but it’s generally on religious grounds (e.g., the belief that the Mosiach should be the founder of the Jewish state).
Diagnostic medicine is diagnostic medicine. If you can’t learn it, you do not need to be anyone’s doctor. If you half-@$$ your patients because they don’t look like you, you don’t need to be anyone’s doctor.
