True.

If he runs against Trump he’s done.

How dare DeSantis behave like the Republican party is a political party that follows republican traditions and has primary elections and not a monarchy where Trump is automatically anointed to the nomination!

The people who are pushing DeSantis are not backing him because they want him to win the Presidency. They are backing him because they want a bitter and destructive primary fight that destroys both Trump and DeSantis.

DeSantis will lose to Trump for 2024, but he will damage Trump in the general election. Not as much as Trumps enemies want, because most people already have made their minds up against Trump, but maybe enough to throw the election.

In the process, DeSantis will destroy his chances for the presidency because Trump loyalists will never forgive him for sabotaging Trump in 2024.

Which is too bad, because these same Trump supporters see DeSantis as the guy to follow Trump in 2028.

The problem for DeSantis is that he probably sees 2024 as his time because the entire uni party Establishment is willing to give him tons of money and support to destroy Trump in 2024. They won't be so generous in 2028 because they really dislike DeSantis almost as much as they hate Trump, but they need him to challenge Trump in 2024 to take Trump out.

Trump acting like Hillary did in 2016.
He wants a coronation, not a primary.

None of this matters if we don’t do something different on VBM,Vote By Mail,-doesn’t matter if it is Trump or DeSantis on the tix, its one day of voting for us and one month for them-enough tot bring in whatever votes they need. we lose unless we play the same game and stop this silly infighting-as a Trump supporter I have to say I’m disappointed in his pettiness and no action on VBM

I think its idiotic for Trump to be able to cakewalk into the General Election contest. It would be like eliminating the Regular Season and first rounds of the playoffs and sending a team into the World Series being rusty and unprepared for the final contest. What is needed is a healthy respectful debate of issues, management styles, and policies/views by several strong candidates in the GOP.

Also telling DeSantis to not run now is akin to telling Reagan to not run in 1976 & saying that if he ran that he’d be destroying his politics future. Reagan did lose in 1976 to Ford. But look what happened in 1980 and 1984. If Reagan hadn’t run in 1976 then he likely never would’ve been President.

The whole idea of having DeSantis not run seems to be an effort to make sure the Democrats win the 2024 presidential election. I’ll have respect for those with this idea if they’ll be honest that this is their intent.

"Donald Trump has 'final warning message' for Ron DeSantis"

I'd prefer they both stay focused on the marxist democrat party enemy. Any negative campaigning they use against each other will probably reused against them later by the democrats in the general election campaign.

Honestly, I think Trump is trying to avoid a big fight on the GOP side for the nomination because it looks like the Dems are going to have a huge battle in their ranks. Watching the Dems battle it out is going to be interesting, especially if Joe wants to run again.

The theory is, if the battle is hard enough, the party gets injured in the fight. Trump doesn’t want the GOP all beat up before the election. He considers the other “contenders” not a challenge to his nomination and hopes the Dems get damaged somewhat in the process.

I actually think a battle makes the candidate stronger if he/she has to fight for it.

The big obstacle for any GOP nominee is Dem cheating. I hope Trump has a plan to overcome that. Trump’s coming out to support Disney isn’t going to help him with the base.

I can see now why so many think Trump is an A hole. A self absorbed egomaniac who will go scorched earth and burn it down if he doesn’t get his way.

Trump need to Retire his ugly divisive Immature draft dodging serial adulterer behind and leave FL if you hate our Gov so much .
We need to win 24 .
This radioactive toxic loser has lost Five times since 2018 thanks his reckless unpresidential behavior / mouth plus keeping that documented Crook Botoxed Face Ronna who has destroyed the RNCs Fundraising and ground game .
The FL Gop kept Donnie and Ronna away in 22 and won big .
Trump hate is fueling the Dem victories and it works just like Hillary lost because of her toxic behavior . We can do better than Trump and win .

In order to run, Ron needs to either give up his recently won Governorship of Florida OR have the law changed so he can run for POTUS and still be Governor.

This alone is something that will be a problem for him . If he changes that law to run, he better be a very involved Governor and put that job first or he will totally ruin his chances in 2028. Shadow campaigns don’t work well. Palin ran one and it was pretty much the end for her politically.

If he is sincere about running he should resign and put everything he has into a bid for POTUS otherwise it will just appear his only purpose is to keep Trump from winning at the expense of his job for Florida.

If DeSantis runs, neither He or Trump has a chance at winning. Especially with mail in vote fraud and ballot tampering. Democrats aren’t going to all at once decide to play fair when they don’t have to anymore.

It's just primary politics. If DeSantis pushes Trump too hard, Trump will invent a nickname for Ron as he did for Low Energy Jebra.;-)

Frankly, I don't think it makes much sense to get wound-up about primary spats and threats. It's like a really big pro-wrestling match. Lots of bluster.

If Trump becomes our candidate, Great!

If something happens to Trump and Ron becomes our candidate, Great!

In the final analysis, we are at war with the Demo-Marxists, not fellow Republicans.

What I replied to another thread:

If Ron DeSantis is an American-First, MAGA supporting patriot he should fulfill his commitment as Governor of Florida. By doing so, particularly if he helps President Trump get re-elected again, he would be the prohibitive favorite in 2028. His best course of action is to get free of the Wormtoungues he has surrounded himself with, tell his wife to go make a sammich, and wait.

If, on the other hand, he is just another GOPe cardboard cutout, then he should by all means run in 2024. By running against Trump he will get rect and exposed, eliminating the threat of another Establishment feces-sandwich that the base would be told they must eat and smile while doing so.
