In order to run, Ron needs to either give up his recently won Governorship of Florida OR have the law changed so he can run for POTUS and still be Governor.

This alone is something that will be a problem for him . If he changes that law to run, he better be a very involved Governor and put that job first or he will totally ruin his chances in 2028. Shadow campaigns don’t work well. Palin ran one and it was pretty much the end for her politically.

If he is sincere about running he should resign and put everything he has into a bid for POTUS otherwise it will just appear his only purpose is to keep Trump from winning at the expense of his job for Florida.

If DeSantis runs, neither He or Trump has a chance at winning. Especially with mail in vote fraud and ballot tampering. Democrats aren’t going to all at once decide to play fair when they don’t have to anymore.

That's not how the law is currently written. He is free to run for a federal office, but the requirement is to resign no later than the moment he takes the oath of office and becomes president. No one thinks he wouldn't do that.

The complication is that if gets the nomination and loses, it appears that he would still have to resign. The wording of the law is unclear, but that's how I read it. We will have to see what the Florida legislature does about this issue.
