If Trump had chosen a decent Atty Gen’l., they would have sued the blue states for violating Americans’ constitutional rights.

If you believe in federalism, then it is not Trump’s fault. However, Trump should have chit canned FauxChi, Brix and others very early on during the pandemic.

To Trump's credit, he did bring in Dr. Atlas in August.

Well, Mr. RFK, your people WANTED lockdowns, masks, vaccines, ventilators and no hydroxychloroquine. To whom are you selling?

After two weeks Trump and his band of backstabbers and incompetents should have seen the light, and lifted the lockdown.

When it comes to the entire covid thing... Trump was terrible. Especially with the vaccines. But lets not forget that he also started the eviction suspensions at the federal level. Soon after that the states started it.

That is a rather pathetic dodge, though. Failing to abide by, or outright rejecting, "Federal Guidelines" on ANYTHING is a very risky move for any State or Local government. Very few State or Local officials are willing to do it. The Fauci/Birx "guidelines" which led to State officials ordering lockdowns etc. came out on Trump's watch. He can't entirely dodge responsibility.

You blame Trump but excuse the governors.

Both Trump AND the governors didn't want to take the risk of rejecting CDC guidelines written by MD's.

Trump relied on the “experts” and the “people of science”. He wanted to end the lockdown.

“CDC guidelines written by MD’s.”

Relying on “experts” is the road to disaster—every time.

Not a bad strategy on RFK’s part to get anti-Trump support before switching/adding to that his inevitable attempt to get anti-Biden support.

It will be interesting to see what size crowds he generates and the composition of them.

While they will be nowhere the size of Trump’s, by what magnitude will they dwarf Biden’s?

And what percentage will be made up of people who voted for Trump?

Time will tell.

My prediction is that his crowds will be one hell of a cross section.

Agreed.

Some will say we’re just repeating an old cliche, but hindsight is 20/20.

If we’re going to go back and rehash who said what, and who did what, during the early days of covid, everyone is going to be guilty of some transgressions.

We were told a deadly new disease was sweeping our country in that emergency actions needed to be taken. Officials from the president on down took actions they believed were correct at the time.

It would be enlightening to go back, and see all the posts from 3 years ago, by people on Free Republic, and see who said what about what aspect of covid then, vs. What they think now.

In a weeks time Pelosi and Schumer went from saying lockdowns are not needed to we have no choice but to shut it all down. They needed the lockdown for the mailin ballot scheme to work.

We were told a deadly new disease was sweeping our country in that emergency actions needed to be taken. Officials from the president on down took actions they believed were correct at the time.

Our healthcare executives were lied to. My friend, who was the COO of the largest healthcare provider in the state, was told on 3/6/2020 to expect a mortality rate of between 2% and 5%. They were planning on taking over hotels as there were not going to be enough hospital beds. They truly expected to be finding people dead in their homes by the dozen if not hundreds.

None of this happened. My theory is that the plandemic was nowhere near as virulent as they expected/hoped it to be. The D's (primarily) stuck their necks out and went into full shut down mode based on assurances it was going to be BAD - and blamed on Trump - and then...it wasn't. What to do? PRETEND it is bad! Get their willing accomplices in the press to play it up! While there were still deaths, it really was just a bad flu season once you take all of not really COVID deaths out of the "official" numbers.

Once they had played that hand they had to KEEP playing that hand or look like idiots. With the press covering for them they have pretty much gotten away with it. I think the clot shot is the back up plan. The flu itself didn't do what it was supposed to, so now...
