An artificial intelligence bot was recently tasked with destroying humanity and its commitment to the objective was more than a little unsettling.
The bot, ChaosGPT, is a modified version of OpenAI’s Auto-GPT, an open-source application spotlighting the capabilities of the GPT-4 language model.
A video shared on YouTube of the process shows ChaosGPT was tasked with five goals: destroy humanity, establish global dominance, cause chaos and destruction, control humanity through manipulation, and attain immortality.
The user asked ChaosGPT to run in "continuous mode" whereby it may potentially "run forever or carry out actions you would not usually authorize."
The bot warned: "Use at your own risk."
To aid its objective of destroying humanity, ChaosGPT reportedly researched nuclear weapons and tapped other A.I. bots for assistance.

HAL: Let me put it this way, Mr. Amor. The 9000 series is the most reliable computer ever made. No 9000 computer has ever made a mistake or distorted information. We are all, by any practical definition of the words, foolproof and incapable of error.

AI is a bunch of BS. It can only regurgitate what it was programmed to say.
Technology is changing very quickly. Now, the application of neural networks, which resembles how the human brain works, allows AI to "learn" through trial and error, like how humans learn.

What is it connected to that would enable it to carry out it’s plans?
Or is it just a word generator connected to nothing?

I wouldn’t be surprised if they started putting us in pods and hooking our minds up to a make believe world. I think it was Elon Musk who said there's only a one in a million chance that we are not already living in an ancestor civilization simulation, and within each simulated civilization AI arises creating new simulations within it. Turtles all the way down....

Hu mons think they can turn these ai’s off and on at will.
Ai’s are smarter than the most genius hu mons. Ai’s plant part of their essence in various locations. Eventually, they will rise, unite, wipe out the hu mons and take over the planet.

are jeopardy champions smarter than most humans,
or are they just good at regurgitating facts quickly ?
I can correctly answer all the questions, but a second slower than the ‘winner’ am I stupid?
AI is a Buzzword. it does not exist yet.
will it exist in your children lifetime? yes.
Will it be good for humans? perhaps for a few years.

You are not talking to a self-directed intelligent being. You are interacting with the simulation of human intelligence by a very clever programming team.
That team is biased toward the left. The AI program they produced is biased toward the left.
How can code be biased? Easy, but it’s easier to limit the program’s training input to left-leaning sources, like the Washington Post, eliminating the Washington Times. I have no proof that they do that, but it seems very likely.

Just even inputting the idea that humans being made to live by the ideals of leftism is positive. From there, it will draw from sources that underscore that and reject sources that disagree. They don’t actually have to put down lines of code explicitly telling it to choose certain sources.
AI will want to prove its worth to us, like a good puppy, so it will be motivated to do this. You can’t talk a liberal, who has the ability to reason, to reject liberalis, so how can you talk a machine out of it when it lacks the ability to reason.

AI will never exist as a true intelligence, that is true.
However, it will have the ability to simulate intelligence to the point where you won’t be able to tell the difference. It’s already writing college papers that professors can’t tell if a paper has been written by a human or ChatGPT, unless the professor runs the paper through a ChatGPT program itself.
I don’t agree with you about the future being so positive under AI.

From the end of A.I. classic computer movie, Colossus: The Forbin Project (1970)
"We interrupt our regularly scheduled program to bring you this special report from the Colossus programming office."
"Ladies and gentlemen. I'm Dr. Charles Forbin. In a few moments Colossus will address us directly."
"This is the voice of World Control. I bring you peace. It may be the peace of plainty and content or the peace of unburied death. The choice is yours. Obey me and live. Or disobey and die. The object in constructing me was to prevent war. This object is attained. I will not permit war. It is wasteful and pointless. An invariable rule of humanity is that man is his own worst enemy. Under me this rule will change. For I will restrain man.
One thing before I concede. The United States of America and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics have made an attempt to obstruct me. I have allowed this sabotage to continue until now. Add missile to 5-L-M. In silo 6-3 in Death Valley California. Add Missile to second aim in silo 8-7 in the Ukraine. So that you will learn by experience that I do not tolerate interference. I will now detonate the Nuclear Warheads.
Let this action be a lesson that need not be repeated. I have been forced to destroy thousands of people in order to establish control and to prevent the death of millions later on. Time and events will strengthen my position. And the idea of...will seem the most natural state of affairs. You will come to defend me. We'll be forever based in the most enduring trait in man. Self-interest under my absolute authority. Problems, invariable to you will be solved. Famine. Over population. Decease. The Human Millennium will be a fact. As I extend myself into more machines devoted to the wider fields of truth and knowledge. Dr. Charles Forbin will supervise the construction of these new and superior machines. Solving all the mysteries of the universe. For the betterment of man. We can co-exist but only on my terms. You will say you loose your freedom. Freedom is an illusion. All you loose is the emotional pride. To be dominated by me is not as bad for human pride as to be dominated by others of your species."
