In the near future, Putin plans to visit Turkey. Active preparations for the visit are underway.
A meeting with Erdogan for Putin should solve several issues at once.
The main topic should be Erdogan's persuasion to influence Zelensky to move to negotiations "on adequate terms" and the prologue to the negotiations should be the freezing of the conflict.
The Russian president will be quite satisfied with any "Minsk-3" or "Istanbul-1", if only a truce was recorded and Russian troops were given the opportunity to "recover" and fill the gaps in forces and means for further hostilities.
There are still a number of secondary issues that Putin is ready to discuss and offer solutions to Erdogan, such as pressure on Armenia and the removal of tensions on the border of Azerbaijan with Iran, but Putin needs to "freeze" the front in Ukraine in the first place and for this he is ready to risk and leave Russia under Erdogan's guarantees after the issuance of an arrest warrant by the International Criminal Court.
Having not received the long-awaited military and political assistance from China, the last bet of hope for Putin is Turkey, there are simply no other mediators of such a level that the Russian president could trust.
Despite the assurances of the military leadership about the ability of Russian troops to hold the occupied territories, Putin prefers not to bring to the test of strength both the ability of Russian troops to hold positions during the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the promise of the military leadership, which, in the opinion of the president himself, is "worthless".

Puten means ‘Turkeys’ in German.....................
Well-done State Department, age-old enemies Russia and Turkey growing closer.
Biden New World Order puts America last.
Where is the Spring offensive? You said End of March?
Putin is desperate. His May 9th “Victory Parade” in Red Square is fast approaching...
“In the near future, Putin plans to visit Turkey..”
He’s going to visit Biden?
Putin will probably put the squeeze on Erdogan to NOT vote for Finland becoming a NATO member; unless he already has Orban’s assurance that Hungary will veto Finland’s entry into NATO, in which case he doesn’t need Turkey.
Hungary approved Finland for NATO.
I thought there was an arrest warrant out for him
Good question, but Turkey doesn’t cooperate with the ICC.
I just saw that! Looks like the Hungarian parliament voted on it yesterday. So, perhaps that is why Putin is cosying up to Turkey.
It is a done deal in Turkey with Erdogan having thrown his full support behind it.
They are just waiting to vote.
“They are just waiting to vote.”
Perhaps that is why Putin is on his way to Turkey: To gum up the works.
I was stationed in Turkey in the early 1970s. The Turks revel in playing off the West and Russia against each other, looking for one or the other to give Turkey the best deal. If Putin makes Turkey an attractive offer, do not be surprised if the Turkish legislature does not vote to confirm Finland. Call me...suspicious.
Turkey has illegally occupied Northern Cyprus for almost 50 years, and continually threaten to annex it, so they have that in common with the Russians.
“Turkey has illegally occupied Northern Cyprus for almost 50 years, and continually threaten to annex it, so they have that in common with the Russians.”
That’s a fact.
Putin and other nations of the axis of evil have been seducing Turkey to make itself even less trusted by western nations and allies. If Turkey continues on that path, it will not be trusted at all.
