The majority of those people got exactly what they voted for.

No matter what we do...No one....absolutely no one will know if WE have altered the climate with the trillions and trillions spent...and therefore saved the world. It’s an absolute impossibility.

You cannot power modern civilization on wind and solar, which is the underlying issue here.

And windmills appear to be killing unacceptable numbers of both birds and whales, in addition to failing to generate enough power to supply civilization.

The legislature that passed the law in question in this article should have included a paragraph designating that Pi be equal to 3.00 while they were at it. Same level of realism involved.

> The only route left to comply with the literal terms of the law would have been to convert the whole building to electric heat… <

And to make it even more interesting, no one has any idea where all the needed additional electricity will come from.

As a harbinger of things to come, Tesla promised that by the end of 2021, all energy provided through their supercharger system would be renewable.

Guess what?

They lied.

My buddy does industrial boilers and has been asked to quote some of these building to switch to electric boilers. He tells them right from the start that a proposal can’t be done unless they can secure Con-Edison (Power Company) will install the amperage needed. Con-Ed said the city is already on the edge and they won’t add more power for this. They are so short sighted.

280 apartments with the cheapest costing $6,000/month, so Glenwood adds a green surcharge to each apartment to cover the fine. That’s only $119/month per apartment. The tenants won’t even blink at that, and sold properly it gives them green credits. The people who wrote the law and the fine amounts knew this.

If anything, Boilers emit steam, not carbon

The furnaces boiling the water in the boiler tubes emit carbon dioxide

"carbon dioxide [is] then chilled to minus 10 degrees Fahrenheit and turned to liquid."

Great! So then, what is done with the liquid CO2. When left as a liquid, when exposed to atmospheric pressure, it will quickly turn to gas and escape back into the atmosphere. There now might be a small market for liquid CO2, but the price will quickly go to zero once just a few places start liquifying it. Even at that, it will also return to the atmosphere when the buyers simply use it for whatever reason they bought it.

Expensive as it is, liquifying CO2 is simply the starting point for keeping it out of the atmosphere. There must also be a plan for storing it...forever. Or, for the true believers, at least until the end of the present Interglacial, and New York starts getting covered with mile thick glaciers.
