If anything, Boilers emit steam, not carbon
The furnaces boiling the water in the boiler tubes emit carbon dioxide
You are technically correct, but, at least in the case of residential heating, the term ‘boiler’ also includes the water heating source. There is also no ‘boiling’ of the water, and no steam is created in these units. The water may be heated slightly above its atmospheric pressure boiling point, but higher pressure in the system prevents boiling.
