Lucido further explained that “most colleges and universities across the nation are not highly selective, and many are taking every student who they believe can do the work.”
He also said that race “does not stand alone as a criteria” in an admission office, especially those found in colleges and universities which are supposedly “race-aware or race-conscious.”
“Any mechanistic use of race was prohibited by Supreme Court case law long ago,” he added. “Instead, race, culture and identity are viewed as inseparable from who the applicant is as a student and future community member.”
Did they lie or did they identify?
I really don’t believe this.
If you don’t vote Democrat, you ain’t bLACK. You’re white.
Easy... They check-off Native American.
Many Americans believe they’re part American Indian.
What this article admits is, colleges are racist. Pure & simple.
I was told that a long standing story that I had some American Indian in me from way back, an adopted Indian child.
Then my nephew got a DNA test. No American Indian, but a little bit of black African (he is whiter than Macaulay Culkin). My guess is that back then the lying was better to say you were American Indian instead of black.
I am part Native American. But never helped me get a job. My skill-set got me my jobs.
Gotta love that diversity horse hockey. Makes the white eyes all into minority wannabes. ROTFL. A whole crapload of Fauxcahontas Warrens. Buffalo Wing Woman. LOL.
My wife had that impression from her father's side of the family. An ancestor was an orphan named Mary Jane Pheasant. As she continued her research for DAR, she uncovered the parent of Mary Jane to be a rogue Englishman named Edward Pheasant. Edward's documentation was all over the place.
After doing the DNA sequencing, it turns out that we both have Scottish and Welsh ancestry. I have Irish/Finnish as well. She has some German ancestry. No "native American" ancestry at all.
My paternal family believed they were part Choctaw... I was disabused of that idea by ancestry DNA... not even a drop of native blood.
Didn’t humans originate in Africa? So technically it’s not lying to say you’re African American.
Golly, maybe this is a hint that we should not treat people differently based on their race?
I'm actually a for real Latin so it's time to identify as one.
I even have several hundreds of times more Native American in me than Lizzy Warren.
Geez, I'm a genuine multi cultural person of color.
I’m guessing they all did this because of “White Privlege”.
And, per Henry Louis Gates, many black families have a story about an American Indian ancestor. Then, their DNA shows they're part white with no American Indian.
It's almost like everyone wants to be part American Indian. lol
Never thought of that. I am one sixteenth black.
