WWE brought back “Sunday Night Heat”! (I wish)
The NFC Championship between the Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers brought a little Attitude Era our way after a fight broke out with just 4:13 left in the game.
Trent Williams, who is the left tackle for the Niners, was ejected from the game after slamming Philly safety K’Von Wallace to the ground — Wallace also received an ejection.
It was pretty obvious that Williams acted out of frustration with San Francisco getting blown out by the Eagles. The 49ers were never really in it after starting quarterback Brock Purdy was forced out of the game in the first quarter due to injury, with backup Josh Johnson coming in, only to leave the contest with a concussion. It was absolute misery for San Fran, who had to run a one-dimensional offense with no quarterback, with Philadelphia flat-out dominating them as a result.
The Philadelphia Eagles won the NFC Championship, 31-7, and are now headed to Super Bowl LVII.
Shout out to Philly!
In my NFL Conference Championship Sunday predictions piece, I had the Philadelphia Eagles grabbing a 31-20 win. As you see, the Eagles had me covered, and quite frankly, I like to think the San Francisco 49ers would have had me covered too if their damn quarterbacks wouldn’t have gotten injured, so technically, I was spot on with my prediction.
That’s my narrative, and I’m sticking with it.

I went to a football game, and a hockey game broke out.
Well who told the Bengals to punt the ball right down the middle of the field with a minute left?
With or without Purdy the officiating would have seen to it the Eagles won. The fix is in.
😜👍.....................................
“With or without Purdy the officiating would have seen to it the Eagles won. The fix is in.”
On the Bengals Facebook site, a lot of their fans are saying the same thing.
I hate any game with a flag in the last minute let alone the last play. No blood, no foul. Send it into overtime.
How about not hitting players when they are clearly out of bounds.
He barely touched him with one hand.
Rigid officiating, yes. Overactive... maybe.
Hard to watch some of the antics by players hopping around like little kids pointing at opposing players, trying to sell a call to the refs.
Two of the worst games in the history of FB.
The San Fransico Forty WHINERS!
And he goes by “Jo.” Or his friends sometimes call him “Apple-Banger” after a few beers.
Go Chiefs !!
College football has a rule about ‘excessive celebration’. NFL should too, if they don’t already................
That’s why they call it, “The No Fun League”.
Yes, that is idiocy....................
Raiders & Chiefs 1970. Raiders DE Ben Davidson hit Lenny Dawson when Dawson was already on the ground. Chiefs WR Otis Taylor ran back and jumped on Davidson. The brawl was one for the ages, benches cleared and it went on for 10 minutes or so. Johnny Carson even did a replay of several minutes of the brawl on the Tonight Show.
Just say “NFL-style Fight” - both sports offer their audiences the same level of authenticity. :)
SF did not have access to the bit of film that would have shown the blown call until after—way after the play and next snap. It would have made a difference....Frankly, there was a ref on the other side of the field with direct eye contact of the catch and failed to call it...
But all that is water under the bridge after Purdy’s injury limiting him to just running plays. THe 4th string quarterback—Johnson, looked ill prepared to be in the game and one has to hand it to him for giving it his best despite being literally flattened by the Eagles.
Its Sports Ball—whatever...
