The Southwest Airlines meltdown is starting to make me wonder if our system is running out of gas, nearing end-of-life.

One of the troubling aspects of capitalism (No, it’s not perfect!) is the opportunity for those with control over extremely large amounts of available financial capital (i.e., banks) to take over good businesses and destroy them with ineptitude and greed. As a rule, they have no clue what made their acquisitions into great companies.

Financial capitalists (”financialists”) create advantages for themselves by globalizing operations (separating their customers from the economic benefits of their companies as well as any genuine leverage over them), and gaining undue influence over governments.

I am also reminded to Boeing, which went down this financialist path and started crashing planes.

The push to A.I. is also one of the disastrous strategies of the financialist capitalists. All huge software systems eventually become weighted down by too many patches etc., and eventually crater (cf Southwest Airlines). Letting A.I. start coding itself is just going to expedite the disaster.

Is our whole system doomed to crater as the “software” of our nation dies of incompetent management (by financialism) as well as just old age?

What do you suppose soldiers, marines and sailors talk about in the trenches, foxholes and battleships?

These personal connections are important.

I mean no disrespect for kinetic action warriors that fight for us digital warriors to do what we do, but we are in a digital foxhole together BR. When you are in a foxhole, things get personal.

Bigg Red,
In the past you have attempted to be the language moderator. Now you want to be the conversation moderator. Perhaps you should look inward as to why you feel the need to control others. Fortunately America still has a Constitution and a Bill of Rights. The first amendment of the Bill of Rights protects freedom of speech.

In reading this thread, or any other thread, I have found the scroll function to be quite useful. You should try it. Rather than trying to control others I have found it quite useful to scroll on by conversations, or posts, that donā€™t interest me; it might work for you as well.

I pinged Ransomnote to this post as to my knowledge she is the only moderator of this thread, other than the forum owners. If Ransomnote wishes to ban me for my post, or any other post I have made, that is her prerogative. In the meantime I believe that anyone should have conversations regarding whatever they chose including their ā€œpersonal livesā€. If no one is interesting no one will reply. Due to the replies that folks have made there is an interest in such conversations and you should, once again, scroll on by. Try it ā€“ it might just make your day!

Finally Bigg Red, I do have one salient question to this most edifying conservationā€¦are you always this rude or do you save it for Wednesdays?

How’s this?

A totally different thread with details of posters’ personal lives: with long blood clots.
