The media’s silence on the ‘Twitter Files’ is shameful
NY Post ^ | 12/11/22 | Miranda Devine

Whatever happened to “All the news that’s fit to print,” and “Democracy dies in darkness,” the respective mottos of the two most influential newspapers in the country, The New York Times and The Washington Post?

Every morning, these august organs set the narrative for newsrooms across the country, and yet, time and again, we see them ignore stories that don’t suit their own agenda as propaganda purveyors for the Democratic Party and the security state.

This has been obvious in their non-coverage of Elon Musk’s Twitter Files, four batches over 10 days so far, which have revealed a chilling censorship regime at the social media giant, which no doubt is replicated across Big Tech, including at Facebook and Google.

We see evidence of what we long suspected, despite Twitter former CEO Jack Dorsey’s lies to Congress: Conservatives and medical professionals were silenced, as part of a crackdown on effective dissent against the government. From The Post’s Hunter Biden laptop stories and criticism of the Biden administration’s botched Afghanistan withdrawal to Dr. Fauci’s bogus edicts on masks, lockdowns and the origins of COVID, censorship has been the order of the day. That should be a story of interest to journalists at The Times and WaPo.

Threat to democracy

If anything is an existential threat to democracy, it is Big Tech’s assault on free speech, in service to one side of politics and under the instruction of intelligence operatives determined to rig elections against recalcitrant Republicans. In fact, the lead agency tasked with election security, the FBI, is revealed as a prime culprit.

“Most of the media has been infiltrated by the enemy trying to overthrow our system of government.”

Wrong! It should read:

“Most of the media is controlled by the intelligence services who have already taken over the government”

Twitter releases proves the second to be accurate.

Long gone. Tagline says it with every post.

The media is corrupt, of course Trump was right to continually point that out.

The Russia hoax was also 1000 times worse but we still never got the push back on lies and misinformation told by Adam Schiff, Hillary, et al. Hillary knew damn well it was bogus but she’s the one out there talking about Trump and Russia just like she made Richard Mellon Scaife and Vast Rightwing Conspiracy talking points rather than accept Bill lied under oath, and to her, about an affair with an intern. Worse yet they still try to label Trump as “Putin’s Puppet” when Joe’s given Putin everything except the keys to his Vette. Come on now Cornpop!

We still see the Big Lie about MAGA being neoNazis. And there’s no accountability. The big moment in the 2020 debates was when Chris Wallace asked yet again about racism and Trump responded but weakly, he let Joe distract him. Trump denounced racism and hatred even in 2016 when Wallace asked the same question during a GOP debate. And again with Charlottesville and so on. MAGA is the ultimate Big Tent because it’s all about what’s best for Americans, born or by legalization. It’s not about sectarianism and identity politics playing groups against one another.

Another truly sappy personnel selection - who the hell selected Chris Wallace to be the debate moderator?? The Rs had to sign on to this and he was very effective - as the talking understudy for Senile Joe Biden.

“We aren’t that stupid. And I know Miranda Devine, author of this piece, isn’t stupid.”

But apparently a majority of our fellow “citizens” are.....and getting stupider.

And getting even more stupid than that as well.

The ‘Twitter Files’ isn’t the only thing about which the media is silent.

Both usages (stupider and more stupid) are correct in this case, aren't they?

I should have said:

Stupid, more stupid, stupidest.
Stupider can be used though it is the most stupid thing I've ever read.

I didn't write the rules of the English language.

IMO the adjective "stupid" is an unattractive word in the first place. It's emotional (angry) and vague in meaning.

There are plenty of adjectives to choose from that are more precise and, frankly, just more pleasing to the ear.

Follow-up comment: When I used the word "stupid" in my original comment, it was very early and I was in a very pissed-off frame of mind (had an unusually stressful weekend).

I calmed down as the day progressed.
