Airline outrage: Passenger reportedly tells mom in first class she shouldn’t be there with a child
Fox News ^ | 12/6/22 | Cortney Moore

The mom took to Reddit to reveal an airplane passenger confronted her for having her toddler in first class — was she wrong to do that?

After an airline passenger allegedly accosted a woman because she had her toddler in the plane's first-class section, the anonymous mom took to Reddit to ask others if it was wrong of her to book first-class plane tickets for her young child — and people chimed in.

The Reddit user, One-Criticism5777, turned to the "Am I the A******" subreddit on Saturday, Nov. 26. She said a male passenger accused her of sitting in the wrong boarding class on purpose — and that he went on to call her a derogatory term.

The mother said she and her husband had "decided to splurge" on their cross-country flight for Thanksgiving. They booked a first-class ticket for their nearly 3-year-old daughter, who was traveling with them.

Wait until the food, water and utilities are gone.

Yet the woman on Reddit claimed that when it came time to deplane, the male passenger whispered a derogatory term in her ear and then said that "he pays too much money for first class to be surrounded by children."

We paid too much for first class to be seated near an anal sphincter.

There is nothing wrong with a well-behaved, respectful child. Problem is I have not seen many in the last couple of decades. Bad parenting, not teaching their children how to be well-behaved and respectful.

My worst flight was an overbooked flight; we in the second to the last row. Behind us was a drunk man and woman with screaming infant. He complained loudly and crudely from the moment about being in the back row from the moment he reached his seat; being told to shut up by everyone in his vicinity only aggravated his drunken state. At one point, he claimed he, his wife and baby deserved better seats because “I’m a king, he’s a king, she’s a king.” When the baby began wailing again, he held I’m up in the air and shouted, “Give ‘em ell, son!”

“It’s annoying but first-class domestic is basically economy of 20 years ago.”

I dunno about that.

I flew round trip first-class from Atlanta to Salt Lake City and the flight had the lay flat pod seats. It was much better than the over stuffed leather Barkalounger style seats that were considered premium back 20 years ago.

Not even close. You pay for the ticket and you get what you paid for. Why is this even an issue?

Yes.

Ship the brats on LTL freight, or a bus or whatever.

People pay good money to fly first class and they don’t
want puking screaming pooping brats sitting next to them.

Pressurize the cargo area for them or something.

Well those screaming, pooping, puking little brats one day will be paying for your SS..

I had a kid kick my seat continuously on a 5-hour flight from Hawaii. The brat finally stopped when I reached my arm around and squeezed his leg as hard as I could. He stopped.
This was 40 years ago BTW, no one would dare question me.

What if a 1st class parent on the same long flight wandered into economy with a crying baby ?

I assume that would bother you too.

I doubt I or anyone else would even notice - economy on any flight longer than a couple of hours will already feature at least two crying babies.

My worst flight ever was 1973 from Dover to Mildenhall. It was a DC8 cram packed full of dependents with crying, puking, screaming, crapping babies for 9 hours.

I use to fly a lot, including to Europe. My worst first class experience was this: after giving me my mixed nuts and a double McCallan 18 I carefully had eaten all the nuts except the cashews.

I looked away momentarily , only to discover upon looking back y that my cashews were gone. WHAT????

I asked the flight attendant if she took them

Yes I figured you did not like them.

Oh, no. I was saving them for last.

she quickly returned with a fresh dish of all cashews and topped up my drink.

Yeah, that’s as rough as it has ever gotten for me. I’d say I’ve been damned lucky compared to some of the horror stories I hear about.

And just to be clear, the flight attendant and I got a pretty good laugh out of the KLM Klepto Cashew Caper.

A 5.5-hour flight from Hawaii to California. Lady next to me had BO so bad it would knock a buzzard off a s—t wagon.

I had one on the same flight from Hawaii to CA except I was in the window seat and had no arm rest on the left and only about 3/4 of a seat. Her rolls of fat completely covered the arm rest and bled over into my seat,

That was likely during the pandemic when some of the international planes were repurposed to domestic. Those are largely back to international flights now and domestic is back to normal. There are a handful still but that is few and far between at this point.

The complaining dude was probably someone who doesn’t fly First Class a lot.

As a business road warrior who has taken thousands of FC segments, sometimes you get a clunker. Just deal with it.
