Don’t choose Pennsylvania. We thought it would be better than New York..

Having spent most of my career in NYC and Atlanta, I moved to South Georgia and would recommend it for consideration.
It is clearly Trump country and there's plenty of land for sale if you wanted a mini-farm.
I live in a very rapidly growing small town (when I say rapidly growing I mean we have a new shopping center with a Hobby Lobby, Marshalls, Pet Smart, and Publix. We have a Walmart Supercenter and an active small airport.
We are about 115 miles and 2 hours to Jacksonville International Airport.

We chose kentucky. Tennessee is nice. Our friend in Kentucky is choosing the bahamas. In every case it’s about taxes.

I concur. We really like Kentucky even though it has an income tax. But that’s because of our situation we won’t have to pay the income tax. For starters. Kentucky doesn’t tax social security.

Good choice.
We retired from NYC to Reynolds county, Mo. in 2014.

At least you’re in a free state, and not a blue fascist one! :-)

Take a Google Maps drive through Douglas, GA and see what you think. Start with a drive through downtown.

SE Oklahoma. Pretty terrain, low taxes, VERY red voting, lots of land to be had.

It’s funny that I have heard that before from a former New Yorker, yet my town is awash in former New Yorkers.

I agree. I’m in KS, less than 2 miles from MO/KS state line and I’m thinking about moving to MO.

My mom was born and raised in Albany, and I considered the city my second home. I understand now it’s the hell hole of Georgia and I know my cousins got the heck out, with a few moving to Lee County. Such a shame. I have such fond memories of the city and I love Georgia. Go Dawgs!
