Yellowstone TV Season Five

Posted on 11/24/2022 11:49:59 AM PST by MortgageLifter

Just watched Part 2 of season 5 (for the second time) where Dutton gets sworn in as governor. Did anyone notice the following: Singing of the National Anthem was MUTED. Dutton, Beth and the new Senator did not cover their heart or make any effort to display their allegiance to our country during the singing of the National Anthem.

We all know that Kevin Costner is a liberal. But now, we also know that Taylor Caldwell is one as well. Kelly Reilly, well, she's just an import.

Stallone was on Fox&Friends talking about the show. Sounds really good.

It is pretty good. I expected Stallone would phone it in but he is doing a good job with the role.

“To me the best series ever was/is Breaking Bad.”

We liked it, too. And Better Call Saul. Now we’re re-watching Mad Men. Loved the original Bosch.

To us, it felt that Yellowstone was trying too hard to be shocking, and content suffered for it. The daughter character was especially disgusting.

My favorite series is “The Closer”, but I hated the sequel, “Major Crimes”. At some point between the two shows Flynn and Provenza were castrated, and everything got too PC.

Sounds like the Godfather with stetsons or a landlocked Black Sails.

Saw both.

In the first I rooted for the fuzz.

In the second I rooted, God help me, for the redcoats.

After that I gave up on these anti-hero shows.

They're just too damn depressing.

Basically it’s the Sopranos with cows. They’ve got a favorite place to dump bodies and everything.

I think the political climate in Hollywood (and elsewhere) is so toxic against conservatives that celebrities just find it easier to style themselves as liberals so that they can stay gainfully employed.

It has been established that any actor proclaiming themselves as a Trump supporter will have a very difficult time finding work.

In Costner's case, there are millions of dollars at stake.

Little known fact: The Comanche weren’t native to Texas. In the 1700s, they drove the APACHE out, forcing them into the deserts of Arizona. You’ve got to be pretty violent and tough to drive the Apache out!

“Newly rich in horses and knowledge of the Spanish borderlands, in 1720 the Comanches headed east onto the Great Plains of the Southwest, where immense horse herds could be sustained on the seemingly infinite grasslands...

In their effort to monopolize the horse and bison trade and eliminate trade competition – especially for the food sources they relied on – the Comanches went to war against their main competitor on the southern plains: the Apache.

The Apache had thrived on the plains as farmers, but once they were at war those farms became a military liability. Whereas the nomadic Comanche had no farms or villages to attack, the Apache had to defend the places where they were rooted and which they counted on for food and shelter. By sweeping into Apache villages in the dark of night, destroying their food storages, killing their livestock, burning their homes, and quickly disappearing into the night, the Comanche wore down their competitors on the plains.

They combined this type of swift, guerilla style attack with massive frontal assaults that focused on killing as many Apache men and enslaving as many women and children as possible. Following a practice that was widespread amongst indigenous peoples in the region, some of these slaves were sold on the thriving New Mexican slave markets, while others were adopted or married into families and eventually became Comanches themselves.

By 1740, the Apache had been forced out of the plains regions of modern day New Mexico, Colorado, Kansas and Oklahoma. Some fled further south onto the plains of Spanish Texas, while others moved to the Rio Grande area and the contemporary U.S.-Mexico border region.”

“Only after their arrival on the Southern Plains did the tribe come to be known as Comanches, a name derived from the Ute word Komántcia, meaning “enemy,” or, literally, “anyone who wants to fight me all the time.”

Few years back, a FR poster said he worked in Hollywood.......said
there are conservatives there, but they are forced to stay below the radar.

They use signals to identify each other.

Yep. Before and after. It’s fun to blame it on the series though!
