Just watched Part 2 of season 5 (for the second time) where Dutton gets sworn in as governor. Did anyone notice the following: Singing of the National Anthem was MUTED. Dutton, Beth and the new Senator did not cover their heart or make any effort to display their allegiance to our country during the singing of the National Anthem.

We all know that Kevin Costner is a liberal. But now, we also know that Taylor Caldwell is one as well. Kelly Reilly, well, she's just an import.

Yep, I saw a “Griz Fans Watch Yellowstone” at the Cats/Griz game on Saturday. You are correct about the changing culture. We still have 2 ranches in Gallatin County, but more in Sweet Grass and Park counties. The posers are ridiculous.

I'm with you 100%! I don't - and won't - either! Doing so only underscores how easily most people, Freepers included, just parrot or buy in to whatever misguided teacher, instructor, or government official leads them to do. In this case, I'm sure some doltish elementary school coach or teachers lead the Pledge with a preamble or post play of the Anthem. Somewhere, it just became codified, socially. To cover your heart, signifies promise or Allegiance... an anthem is not a pledge. (Hell, even around here, 5% don't know the difference between the words "then" and "than".)

I’ve been following politics and going to hockey games since the early 70s. Back then and even now, people only covered their hearts for the Pledge of Allegiance and not our National Anthem.

I don’t understand 1883 at all. In 1883, you could take a train from St louis to San Francisco and a steamship from there to Portland. What’s with the wagons? By 1875, the last of the Comanches had been removed to Ft Sill in Oklahoma. In 1883, Quanah Parker was making a good living selling farm implements to soldiers and settlers in Ft. Sill. Luke Short gunned down “Longhair” Jim Courtright ( Billy Bob Thornton) in a desperate street fight in Ft Worth in 1878.

That Taylor Sheridan doesn’t know history at all.

I do like Tulsa King with Stallone, though- that’s funny as hell.

I loved the part where she gets shot through the guts with a nasty old Indian arrow but then goes on to live for another 3 months. Right.

1883 was a stupid show. Her parents let the frontier Instagram influencer marry a Comanche? The Comanches were all gone by 1875.

I’ve never seen a worse rider on horseback than that girl. She looks like she’s doing it with her girlfriend when she’s in the saddle. Disgusting.

It can take a while to die form peritonitis. I’ve read Civil War stories were a wounded gut shot vicitim can last months. Some even lived.

I watched up to Season 2 Episode 3. Quit watching.

Saw first season on DVD. Did Paramount show that much nudity on their channel?

Comanches rarely killed young white women outright. They made slaves out of them. If it was found that they weren’t useful anymore, they’d do what they did to other whites - open your belly and while you were still alive, shovel the campfire into you. Then scalp you.

Not exactly the poor, oppressed “indigenous peace loving people” they’d have us believe.

The Comanches ranged from Texas to the Dakotas, East to the Tennessee Valley and west to New Mexico for one purpose - Torture and MURDER. The fact that 1883 portrays them any other way is Hollywood revisionism at its worst

Episode 3 of Season 1 is EXACTLY where I am now, and I have no idea what is going on in this show. It’s just a mess.

He owns a big ranch, he gets into a fight with Indians one guy is shot and killed, his son rescues a woman from a van, another woman commits suicide, and the daughter bathes in a horse trough and drinks champagne. WHAT?? It’s a just a confusing mess.

I do not know why the writers of these series cannot get to the point. To me the best series ever was/is Breaking Bad. I immediately knew what was going on, it was straight to the point and right away grabbed my attention. Something like Yellowstone, it’s as if the writers do not know what the show is about so they dilly dally with scenes that have nothing to do with anything.

Their allegiance in their offices is NOT to the state or the nation. They've told us just that earlier. John Dutton's sole purpose is to preserve the land. Beth will do whatever she has to in order to make Daddy's dreams come to fruition (as long as he's alive). Jamie will do whatever Beth wants him to do.
