n this day in history, Nov. 22, 1963, President John F. Kennedy — the 35th president of the United States — was assassinated while riding in an open-car motorcade in downtown Dallas, Texas.
The shocking event of 59 years ago happened near the end of JFK's third year as president.
Riding in the same car as Kennedy and first lady Jacqueline Kennedy was Texas Gov. John B. Connally, as well as Connally's wife, Nellie Connally.
That same day, the suspect in the shooting, Lee Harvey Oswald, was arrested. Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson was sworn in as president that day as well as the stunned nation absorbed the blow of so suddenly and violently losing its elected president.

It was the death of innocence in our country. I remember the principal coming on the intercom at school announcing that The President had been killed. Then he told everyone to head out front to the bus staging area to go home. We didn’t come back until after Thanksgiving. We all just sat at home and watched the TV coverage all day. Everyone was in shock.
Perhaps some of those conspiracy theories were put out by Deep State Conspiracy Theorists to cover their tracks.
“The first time in my childhood that I saw my mother crying.”
I saw my mother crying — sobbing — when JFK was elected. When he was shot ... not so much. (Not at all.)
And all we heard at the reception was "do you know that Kennedy was assassinated on this date?"
“I live about a couple miles from where McKinley was shot.”
Some relative of mine was a telegraph operator between Buffalo and PA when this happened. He knew about it before most people. We just read about it when going through very old letters we found at the family homestead a couple years ago.
I skipped school that day (9th grade) and was watching TV when he was shot...
My mom was a telephone operator at the time and I called to tell her what happened...I was on the phone for about two hours while she relayed what was going on with the other operators....
I was 15 years old and a friend came running up to me at my locker and told me the President had been shot. By the time we all made it home (early) mom had the TV on and the President had died. A horrible weekend....it was like the world stood still. So sad and so dark. I wouldn’t wish this experience on my worst enemy.
You may not be aware, but the latest data dump from the JFK archives gives Oswald an air-tight alibi.
There are witnesses who gave their information to the Warren Commission but it was not included in the report.
Here is what happened:
—Oswald was on the second floor of the Texas School Book Depository Building taking a break from work.
—He walked into the break room to buy a soda and realized he did not have the correct change.
—He walked to the nearest adjacent office and saw a lady co-worker that he knew and asked her for change for a dollar.
—The lady got her purse, opened up her change purse and started handing coins to Oswald
—”Bang” “Bang” “Bang”
—Oswald and other workers in the office stared outside trying to figure out what the noise was.
—Oswald took the change and walked back to the break room and bought a soda
—He was sitting in the break room drinking his soda when a policeman entered the building, walked up to the second floor and saw Oswald there.
Lyndon B. Johnson..had JFK whacked.
On this anniversary a number of articles used to appear talking about Dallas being a center for right-wing extremists. I remember one particular article that said Kennedy was in danger because Dallas was a seething cauldron of right wing hatred. If you were younger and didn’t remember what happened, and who was involved, you would come away believing that the John Birch Society was responsible.
The articles deliberately concealed the fact that Oswald was a Socialist, who had defected to the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics earlier in his life, and returned with a Russian wife.
I haven’t seen these articles in the past few years, there’s probably a few that will show up. Tell your kids or grandkids, it was a Socialist who killed JFK.
But he said he doesn’t remember where he was that day!!
??
Aldous Huxley and C.S. Lewis also died the same day
Never. Libs are ObSESSED with political dynasties. Because errrrrr democracy.
Oswald was a Patsy just as He said.
Deep State got its wings with
That assignment.
See post 28.
There were many folks who had the means, motive and opportunity to kill JFK—and most of them had nothing to do with political ideology.
Those who did it had to control both the investigation and the mass media.
That should narrow down the suspects for you.
59 years later and there are still a lot of unanswered questions. In my opinion, every anniversary adds to the questions and myths with no answers in sight.
Sorta reminds me of the The Lost Dutchman. The longer the unanswered questions are not answered, the longer the list ofd legends & myths grow
Interesting info.
Oswald had to be eliminated which
Sealed his fate as the Fall Guy
They sure beefed up the limo and motorcade since then.
However, LBJ did not order the hit. 20 elite Deep State men did, at the home of Dallas millionaire Clint Merchenson:
