Trump or Desantis? My Thoughts
Rumble ^ | November 12, 2022 | Styx

Now it's time to address the elephant in the room that is the rising "tension" between Ron Desantis and Donald Trump. Really it is more tension that is being astroturfed by the GOP establishment and by Democrats. The legacy media is all on board with this. They love it because it allows them to work out their TDS frustration while stirring up chaos in the Republican party..

What is increasingly disappointing me about President Trump is actually from a story that Piers Morgan told one night on Fox News.

Morgan told the story of when he was interviewing Kanye West and Morgan said to West "Let me give you a piece of advice..." West cut him off and asked "What's your net worth? Are you worth a billion dollars?" Morgan replied "no," and West then said "Then I don't care about your advice."

The point of this story is that President Trump is worth so much money that it surprises me that he still lets people get under his skin. I've met some very rich people socially, and when I've been invited to dinner in restaurants with them they are usually loud, dismissive, and don't care what others think about them. "I can buy this place if they don't like it" is a usual retort.

The fact that Trump lets all these people of lesser accomplishment push his buttons in so obvious a way and with so obvious a desired result to hurt him, it surprises me that he still engages them on their terms like that.

If I could give President Trump a piece of advice...

I'd ask him why doesn't just ignore the sniping, and advise him to let it roll off his back and let his deeds do his talking for him. I'd advise President Trump to not let his detractors of lesser accomplishment steal his gravitas from him and use it to attack him with it on their terms.

They won’t let DeSantis win, unless he goes along.

I’ve thought about that combo but she’s a little dangerous.

Trump’s brilliance was putting together a wide coalition in 2016. I don’t see that happening again, unfortunately.

Many held their noses and voted for Trump, especially the suburban women. You will never get them to vote for Trump again even if either Hitler or Stalin is running on the Democratic ticket.

So this is what we have to deal with. Trump is not going to get elected again in a million years.

Trump.

We NEED scorched earth on the enemies within if we are to have a chance at saving our quickly declining country.

Only Trump could, and would, do that.

In what fantasy world does this happen?

The Swamp chewed Trump up and spit him out and today the Deep State is more powerful than ever.

What makes you think next time will be any different?

Scorched earth? LOL! From the guy who spent his last year in office standing behind Dr. Fauci at press conferences while his economy sputtered to ruin.

We stay home. Let's shatter this illusion once and for all that we really have a choice.

I dont think Trump is electable, he beat Hillary partially because she was so hated.

Dems have learned even more cheating techniques since 2016. Should Trump be the nominee in 2024, the Dems will manufacture 200 million votes, just in the swing states. Who will challenge them if/when they win -- again?

Dems play hardball politics. Pubbies play high-road politics. Which has better success in this current political climate?

I don’t understand Trumps hatred of Ron…

——————————————————————

Think back to 2016 when Trump and Ted Cruz were friendly competitors. Until they weren’t. Until Trump got nasty and vicious.

Donald Trump is doing to Ron DeSantis exactly what he did to Ted Cruz some 6 years ago. The trouble is while it might’ve worked back then, it will not work today. Ron DeSantis is not Ted Cruz.

People like and respect Desantis.

I see it though as a warning to DeSantis, not to get too cozy with the GOPe.

So now you are calling Freepers who support Trump “CULTISTS?”

If you believe this, then there are DeSantis cultists on this board as well.

Agree!
He needs to see the political wisdom in this Churchill quote:

Winston Churchill famously said: “You will never reach your destination if you stop and throw stones at every dog that barks.”

He won’t though!

Think back to 2016 when Trump and Ted Cruz were friendly competitors. Until they weren’t. Until Trump got nasty and vicious.

Trump didn't get "nasty and vicious," Cruz began a strategy of stealing delegates from the other candidates in April 2016 in advance of the convention. That's why Trump hired Paul Manafort as his campaign manager between the primaries and the convention, to protect his delegates won from poaching at the convention.

It wasn't until Cruz did this that the nastiness began. Trump offered the olive branch of a prime-time speech for Cruz on the penultimate night of the convention, and Cruz used it to pointedly not endorse Trump for President.

The nastiness went both ways, but Cruz started it with the delegate fight.

If it comes down to an either/or choice, mine is DeSantis. He’s younger, with years ahead of him, and has a fighting style that is direct, effective, and devoid of the frying pans flying through the air almost indiscriminately. His crazifying effect on the left would come through effective action rather than slung words. The caution is his past as a member of Congress and any residual sense of obligation to any establishment denizens there. Naturally a Trump/DeSantis hybrid would be best, but you work with what you got.

DeSantis should serve out his term as governor as the Floridians who elected him expect him to do.

The Big Club (Paul Ryan, Karl Rove, Rupert Murdoch et Al) are wooing Ron to stab his mentor Trump in the back instead if maturing a bit and waiting his turn.
This will put all of Florida and much of the base in turmoil and give Joe Biden and his cronies a free pass. They have given Ron huge amounts of money already. Trump knows this and thinks Ron is a traitor.
Remember the Mar A Lago FBI raid. You think Kari Lake would allow that in her state?

I like her except she betrayed the women of her state by vetoing that bill and allowing men to compete in women’s sports.

Yes if they vote for him in 2024.

We've already voted for Trump in 2016 and 2020. Two times. That's enough. And he has zero chance in 2024.

Trump/DeSantis makes no sense. Trump doesn’t need help with Florida

It does if you want 12 years to fix this country.

Its not what DJT needs, its what the country needs.
