Trump or Desantis? My Thoughts

Now it's time to address the elephant in the room that is the rising "tension" between Ron Desantis and Donald Trump. Really it is more tension that is being astroturfed by the GOP establishment and by Democrats. The legacy media is all on board with this. They love it because it allows them to work out their TDS frustration while stirring up chaos in the Republican party..

Trump is self destructing on his own right now with all his insane posts criticizing DeSantis. He thinks the MAGA movement is about him and not us. Take a look at what Candace Owens just said about Trump. It’s disheartening and disappointing, but it’s all Trumps doing. He didn’t exert control over the FBI and DOJ to stop the steal in 2020. He cared more about campaigning than securing the election. Don’t tell me that elections are a state matter, I can assure you that the Feds have enough technology to inject into elections to get digital EVIDENCE of computer voting manipulation and illegality to present to a grand jury.

He is great at attacking, but terrible at consolidating power to effectively WIN the game against the Communists.

I don’t know if you’re a Never-Trumper, but you sure talk like one.

Trump has done more to right the American ship of state than any one man has maybe ever.

Never Trumpers along with the RINO’s, GOPe, and of course the Left, love to point out and magnify what they (and you apparently) perceive to be his flaws while ignoring his campaign to put America first and restore America’s Free Constitutional Republic having withstood the six-year blast of the satanic Leftist firestorm against him.

Who else could withstand such opposition? Freedom vs. tyranny is at stake. Many seem to lightly take their God-given and constitutionally-protected freedom, and instead opt for the tyranny of unconstitutional government which holds out the hand of “help” and hides the other hand of oppression.

So many try to make this into a personality contest. It is not. It is a cultural war for the soul and future of our beloved America. Half measures and worries about political correctness won’t cut it and will sink her for sure.

Maybe they were "successful" in a sense that they were elected, but two of those three were awful. I'd almost leave Nixon out of the mix because he was elected eight years after his first unsuccessful bid in 1960.

Here's a better list of running mates for both winning and losing candidates since Nixon left office:

1976: Mondale (D) and Dole (R)
1980: Bush I (R) and Mondale (D)
1984: Bush I (R) and Ferraro (D)
1988: Quayle (R) and Bentsen (D)
1992: Gore (D) and Quayle (R)
1996: Gore (D) and Kemp (R)
2000: Cheney (R) and Lieberman (D)
2004: Cheney (R) and Edwards (D)
2008: Biden (D) and Palin (R)
2012: Biden (D) and Ryan (R)
2016: Pence (R) and Kaine (D)
2020: Harris (D) and Pence (R)

Just look at this list. Almost every one of these people was a dull loser. Only a few of them were even marginally competent as leaders or candidates later, and most of them disappeared into obscurity after they left office. Biden is the only one who went on to be elected president, and he's been such an awful caricature in office that he'd have been better off if he'd just disappeared after 2016.

I’m not a Never Trumper. You’re just too blind with to Trump to acknowledge his now too obvious serious flaws. Take a look at my posts and you can see how much I have backed up our mission to defeat the Communists and RINOs. I want to win this game against the enemy we have and Trump is acting now in ways that take us away from winning this fight. Just knee jerking a response back with a ‘Never Trumper’ reaction to criticism doesn’t address the issue of Trump acting in a self destructive way that also endangers our mission.

Maybe I mistook your intent when you said they were "losers."

I didn’t say you were a Never Trumper but I said you sound like one.

Again, IMO, you don’t seem to balance his “serious flaws” with his serious victories for America which are legion.

Again, this is not a personality contest but a fight for freedom and faith.

You talk about, “the issue of Trump acting in a self destructive way that also endangers our mission.”

I say you lose sight of what the mission is.

What do you say our mission is?

SUCCESSFULLY implementing the policies of MAGA. But you can’t do that when you elections being stolen and enemies trying to destroy this country every which way and from all corners in this country.

Our mission is to restore America’s Free Constitutional Republic. To the degree “the policies of MAGA” do that, to that degree MAGA is our mission.

Free: freedom from unconstitutional government IS the issue.

Constitutional: the Constitution MUST be reinstated as the Supreme law of the Land as the only legal bulwark against government tyranny (AKA Deep State AKA The Swamp) = unconstitutional government acts and agencies.

Republic: small, localized, and representative governance is the constitutional way things should be run.

How do we accomplish our mission?

1) To do whatever it takes to dismantle the $3+ trillion 80%+ unconstitutional portion of the federal government.

2) reinstate constitutional state sovereignty.

3) reinstate the Constitution as the Supreme Law of the Land over the federal government.

I don’t give a sh#t about politics, political correctness, personalities, or the man in the moon. This is what we must do to restore our beloved and beautiful country.

To the degree I see Trump doing that, to that degree I love him and support him. Few are willing to give up so much as Trump has to fight for what the Left has stolen from us.

You may be right. We’ll have to see if the GOP does anything about it.

Look, I’m sorry if my comments offended you. I voted for Trump twice. I support his policies. There are things that he does, though, that hurt his cause. I tried to outline those things so that, if Trump were sitting in the same room, we could talk about them. If either Trump or DeSantis is the nominee, I will support whoever emerges.

I don’t think you have a full grasp of the facts. In March and April 2020, NO ONE had enough information about COVID to make any clear policies about the pandemic, other than to keep people quarantined. You may disagree with that concept, but I should point out that, as the larger scientific community learned about the virus, DeSantis evolved his policies to follow the science. Unlike blue states, which insisted on wearing masks, closing schools, and putting COVID patients in nursing homes, when it was clear that those policies didn’t work and were only going to hurt people. You have the benefit of not having to be responsible for the welfare of the entire state of Florida. Easy to be smug when you have zero responsibility and zero accountability.

You are 100% wrong about this. Many of us right here on FR waged an ongoing pitched battle at the time — right here on this website against other Freepers — because we knew enough of the “facts” to recognize a massive con job when we saw it.

It never made sense, for example, to keep playgrounds closed while dog parks were open … or to close churches while liquor stores and marijuana dispensaries were open. And who can forget that epic interview of New Jersey governor “Phail” Murphy by Tucker Carlson — when Murphy famously said that the Bill of Rights is “above [his] pay grade”?

And we also knew that the God-given rights of man are not subject to the whims of a governor — regardless of whether that governor is named Cuomo, Murphy, Whitmer, or DeSantis.

If a governor wants to close public offices and institutions during an “emergency,” then that’s fine. It’s done all the time. But there is no place in a free nation for any government official to use that power to shut down anyone’s place of business when all the health and safety exposure is totally voluntary. Using National Guard troops at airports and highway checkpoints to stop travelers under the guise of “protecting our most vulnerable” is so asinine it’s pathetic … as if people were flying from to Florida from New York, or driving across the state line from Georgia, and invading nursing homes to infect the elderly residents there.
