BALTIMORE (WBFF) — Former Baltimore City Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake has been named the executive director of the National Basketball Players Association Foundation, the group announced.
The appointment is effective immediately.
“This is a new chapter in my career and an amazing opportunity to lead the NBPA Foundation,” said Rawlings-Blake in a statement. “The players have proven themselves as community leaders on many fronts, including youth programming, disaster relief efforts, social justice, civic engagement, and many more. I look forward to collaborating with the players to create meaningful, long-lasting impact in communities domestically and worldwide.”
Rawlings-Blake served as mayor from 2010 to 2016. She took office when former Mayor Shiela Dixon was convicted of embezzlement and stepped down. She was mayor during the protests following the death of Freddie Gray.
The National Basketball Players Association Foundation highlights and helps the work that players do to build their communities and create meaningful change, according to the organization's website.
Clearly a lack of diversity in the NBA
Where da White folks?
Oh, that’s right - up in the stands, paying to watch bouncing Africans.
Welp, a fool and his money...
If she can only do for the NBA players what she did for B’more, ....
Gee, I wonder why this black lefist was given this job? Wait. Did I just answer my own question?
Couldn't happened to a nicer bunch of thugs.
Hiring based upon prior performance.
So much more money to embezzle, so little time
Grifters gotta grift.
They might as well have the Harlem Globetrotters join the league.
