Red Wave on the Sunset
American Thinker ^ | 6 Nov, 2022 | Clarice Feldman

The internet this week is full of election projections and Elon Musk's moves to clean up Twitter. Starting with the last item – Twitter -- he’s just discharged 2700 employees, saving the company hundreds of millions of dollars in wages and perquisites, fired the board and made himself its sole member. A number of woke corporations, including General Mills and Volkswagen, have cancelled their Twitter ads. Musk seems to be interested in following a suggestion that he list all those cancelling companies which are trying to starve him of revenue so that consumers can decide if they wish to keep patronizing those companies that prefer censoring them to an open free-speech forum. Expect as well many tales of woe from discharged twitterati, because the Left enjoyed that they had -- in addition to the mainstream media -- captured a major source of alternate media, one that blocked, censored, and diminished the voices of those with different opinions and unheralded facts. They are truly sad to see this monopoly end.

It really does look like there will be a red tsunami at the polls, even accounting for the Democrats' well-known election tricks.

Real Clear Politics' latest projections on Saturday are that the Republicans will take 228 seats in the House of Representatives and 54 seats in the Senate. To have a real majority, considering the Stalinist-type lockstep voting of their opponents and the perfidy and stupidity of senators like Romney, Murkowski (where stacked voting may allow her an undeserved win) and Collins, they will need more than 51 seats to have an effective voting majority.

Political analyst Michael Barone, who is a reliable predictor of such things, confirms the Republican wave appears likely:

Meanwhile, as Democrats have pointed out, you see many more poll numbers from partisan Republican pollsters

The Senate number actually is very good considering there are only 14 Democrat seats open but 21 Republican. A net gain of four would be absolutely huge.

Put out a big bowl of popcorn, grab your favorite libations, and be prepared for a karmalicious evening.

Nah.

Reliable?? Barone predicted Mitt Romney to win more that 300 EVs against Obama in 2012.

_____________

Considering what we know now, he probably did!

Shapiro will win the governorship, and it won’t just be from rigging the vote. I can’t understand how people can be so stupid in this case. A handsome, sociable, seemingly moderate Communist is still a Communist.

Romney and McCain were awful candidates—and the Republican base held their nose and voted for them.

More importantly, many union members who were sick and tired of Democrats (but had voted for them in the past) just saw no reason to switch for those two clowns.

It took a serious candidate that convinced them real change was possible that convinced union members in Ohio, PA, Michigan, WI etc to make the switch and vote Republican.

There were many counties in those states that had voted Democrat for years that did switch—but only when Donald Trump was on the ticket.

Putting the "mar" in Marcheshvan for the [formerly] busy "election protectors":

The internet this week is full of election projections and Elon Musk's moves to clean up Twitter. Starting with the last item – Twitter -- he’s just discharged 2700 employees...

Hmmm, reminds me of the Book of Jonah ("dove"), 2700 letters.

"You are Jonah. The real you, for 'Jonah' -- in Kabbalistic parlance -- is another name for the soul. Hence, the story of Jonah is the story of a soul’s journey here on earth."

The Story of Your Life

Souls. At 10th and Market streets:

A full nine floors of showrooms, to be exact, totaling over 600,000 square feet at the outset.

How the internet reshaped Market Street’s Art Deco monolith

And now,

The commandment is found in Deuteronomy 22:6–7:

Should a bird's nest appear before you on the way, on any tree or on the earth, chicks or eggs, and the mother resting on the chicks or the eggs: You shall not take the mother with the offspring. You shall send away the mother, and take the offspring for yourself, so that it be good for you, and your days be long.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shiluach_haken

Mother [אם], alef-mem. Cf. Elon Mask, er Musk [אילון מאסק], because

There's a great [PDF] article about this mitzvah as it relates to the Redemption and the Redeemers coming in alef-mem pairings.

Allusions (page 1, col. 2):

All of the redeemers (“goalim”) are represented by the term א"ם.

Aaron-Moshe
Esther-Mordecai
Eliyahu-Mashiach

אמריקה: Columbia = "dove", and:

Picking up from yesterday's post concerning Jewish Mother's Day -- the 41st day of the year, there's also this fun Twitter factoid:

Users: 238 million monetizable DAU (Q2 2022)

Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow
Why, then, oh, why can't I?

(There's no place like home.)

Twitter [טוויטר] = 240 = doubt [ספק], Amalek [עמלק]. Famous for all the commentaries about that.

Amalek -- a name of unknown etymology, generating many a theory. I'm a simple meaning kind of person so it looks to me like an unholy people: עם לא קדוש

Decades ago, my first Bible included short, descriptive subheadings under the book titles. For some reason only one stuck in memory forever. Under the title for Habakkuk:

"From doubt to faith".

In the fullness of time, I had to smile, because I got the message:

Habakkuk and a smile --
Koach adds life.

Power symbol

"And there was light" (aka the returning light)

Binary -- yet another simple reason for the Torah to begin with a big bet, a big house.

After seeing Romney live in Colorado in 2012, I knew he was going to loose and loose big.
Reminded me of a bad used car salesman.

Correct—and the Democrats have attacked these Trump voters with a level of wildly false allegations and hate not shown since the days of the Third Reich.

For me, ... a “GOP wave” in the Senate would be out of the total 35 Senate seats, the GOP picking up 27+. Anything over the 50-50 would be good of course, but that leaves Mitch and his assistant demonkkraps, the RINOs, in control.

My expectations remain low about the media hype over a GOP wave. They know a lot about how to and succeed in rigging elections. If the GOP gains aren’t as big, you know exactly how the media propaganda will spin the results. I’ve seen Lucy hold the ball in too many elections for Charlie Brown the RINO.

That would be the equivalent of the moon crashing into the Earth and drowning us all. Gaining 4 seats in a year when you have 21 up is a big gain in historical terms. In 2024, we only have 10 seats up compared to 25 for Democrats/leftist independents, so we'd have a great chance of making more gains then.
