Meyer; I am not at all surprised at the amount of movement at high resolution when your camera is tracking! And if you get changes in the temperature at different levels of the atmosphere that results in additional distortion! (And I hope it is not cloudy that night! Here it looks like rain Friday through Sunday!)
In any case, you are way ahead of me on this! I have a pair of binoculars that shake when I use them, an unfinished unsilvered 4” reflector lens , and a refractor telescope that my father picked up at a garage sale that is missing the eyepiece lens! If I were out in the country away from citylights I might do a little more to get them up and working!
I hope that you get good weather and you are able to take some pictures to share with the thread!

A company linked to the Chinese government is contracted to monitor the border; US protest

United States authorities alerted Mexico of the national security risks involved in buying border monitoring equipment manufactured by Nuctech, a company linked to the Chinese government. “They have deficiencies in detection capabilities, which could create opportunities for exploitation by the Chinese government,” warned an intelligence report sent by the State Department to Sedena.
.....n intelligence report sent on April 22 by the State Department to the Secretary of National Defense (Sedena) warned that the Nuctech company, a manufacturer of border scanning and surveillance equipment, had links with the Chinese government.
“We assess that it is very likely that Nuctech has a close and long-standing relationship with the Chinese government to promote Nuctech’s business interests and develop scanning and detection systems on behalf of the Chinese government,” the key points of the confidential report warn.
“Nuctech has engaged in and will likely continue to engage in illegal business practices including corruption, bribery and dumping to gain an unfair advantage in the marketplace,” reads the document, which cited past corrupt practices in countries in Africa, Asia and Europe as background.
“Nuctech’s scanning and detection systems have deficiencies in detection capabilities, which could create opportunities for exploitation by the Chinese government,” the counterintelligence report said.

More than likely it is the intent of the Chinese government to exploit the weaknesses in Nuctech’s tech, if the equipment is put on the US/Mexico border. This, coupled with the Chinese buying land near US military bases, would allow the CCP to set up an information gathering network right under the nose of the US government. Plus given the length of the US Mexico border the CCP would have a large web of technology they could use to spy on the US from California to Texas.
