Some people might never get Covid thanks to their genes, scientists say.
Researchers from the University of Oxford have found that people who have a particular mutation produce a larger antibody response after getting vaccinated.
Around 30 to 40 per cent of people have the gene, known as HLA-DQB1*06. The boosted protection might be enough to block out infections entirely.
It may partly explain why some people never get the virus, even when family members come down with the virus.
The US has the highest number of confirmed cases of any country in the world at 179million, the equivalent of more than half of the entire population.
This is likely an underestimate, however, because testing was patchy at the start of the outbreak and some people never take a test.
Yet, anecdotally there are many stories of people whose entire families come down with the virus and they avoid an infection – even after sharing a bed with someone who is sick.
This group of people have been dubbed ‘never Covid’ and scientists have never quite worked out how they managed it.
The ‘never Covid’ group might have a gene called HLA-DQB1*06

” That’s because the shot CAUSES Covid.”
So no one got Covid before the vaccine.
Brilliant
Ditto.
I don’t think that’s right. If it were genetic, we would see relatives being immune. But, that is contradicted within this excerpt. My husband and I have yet to contract it, although we’re in the “extreme” category, while many of my nearest and dearest have had it. FWIW, the lib faction has been the most whiney about their mild illness, too. So, immunity is not conferred genetically. Sorry. Doesn’t fly.
Had COVID just lately. 1 1/2 days like the mild flu then mayber 4 or 5 days of just fatigue. Had Moderns shots waaay back when they first came out. No boosters. So all is good except taste buds are off.
“Never had it. Never vaxed.”
Same here. My pet theory is that many have immune systems that are very strong against Covid.xyz and the flu. But might not be as strong in fighting off other problems.
But I take 10000 D3 daily just to be sure. I learned from Covid that very strong, vigorous, athletic people can have weak immune systems. That allow them to get laid low by Covid.x and the evil Covid vaxxxxes. To me, Covid and the vaxxes are the same spike protein invader vectors.
Take zinc and vitamin d3.
I don’t care anymore/
That’s very interesting...I’ve never had COVID-19 (to my knowledge) and I have the HLA-DQB1*06 gene. The reason I know that I have the gene is that it’s one of the things they test for when trying to determine if someone has narcolepsy (which I have). The HLA-DQB1*06 allele is strongly associated with narcolepsy, although not causative, so that the test for HLA-DQB1*06 is actually more useful in trying to rule out the condition.
Just had it, was really tired for 4 or 5 days.
Imagine the lives that could have been saved with ivermectin if the hatred for Trump would have been set aside.
using your logic, no one ever had cancer.
Never had vax, never got COVID. I was in the hospital during the height of COVID with kidney surgery, not a single symptom. COVID was a hoax as far as I’m concerned.
As a seasoned citizen who last had a cold ~ 20 years ago, I’ll quote that great philosopher Gordon Sumner...
Who has that gene?
“It’s probably me”
Same also.
But I did have a cold for 3 days.
Maybe that was it.
Dunno.
I never vaxxed. As far as I know I never caught it, but I was never one to keep testing myself day after day.
I attribute that it to the fact of hat truth is stronger than fiction despite the lefts attempt to squelch it …
