I’m sorry to read you’re experiencing so much pain, and hope you feel better soon. I guess my instinct about 500mg Lysine 3x a day was good, if your naturopath agrees. My rash was higher up, just below the shoulder blade, and when it was the worst it felt like a very, very bad sunburn - definitely a burning type of pain. I had to wear very loose-fitting shirts to avoid anything touching it.
I too would lose people, only it would be all my family and friends.
Sounds a bit like “mau-mauing the flack-catchers” as described by Tom Wolfe.
He’s doing better Meyer. He still walks in regular socks on laminate flooring that he has fallen on before but as long as he has his walker, I’m not as worried. PT should be coming soon, hopefully. I keep telling him that if he falls, I’m calling the EMT’s and they can get his 210-pound butt off the floor. :-)
I bought him a bunch of the diabetic no-slip socks the last time he fell but he won’t wear them. He said they make his legs swell, even though they are loose at the top. They aren’t the anklets like the hospital had on him. I have never seen any swelling, but I did tell him that walking around might help with the swelling, even if there isn’t any. 🙄 His oxygen levels and breathing are a lot better! When that is better, he’s not a dizzy.
eg: sex education in school except the "sex education" is already set in stone but you, the parents can decide whether to have it taught on Mondays or Fridays, so there...
That'll show him! I am glad to hear that he's moving around. Those socks on the laminated floor - I have had more than a few instances where I've accidentally gotten overspray of furniture wax on the floor, and it created essentially a skating rink for me, since I also like to wear only socks in the house.
I'm glad he's using his walker too. That's a big help. He needs to treat all surfaces as if he's standing on ice. PT should be able to help immensely, if he listens.

CAT HEALTH SLIDE!
A good friend has a cat with what sounds like the same urinary problems. I looked up foods that cats can eat (and mine liked) that acidify the cat’s urinary system to prevent/cure urinary problems. From my searching:
...natural urinary acidifiers, including asparagus, peas, brown rice, oats, lentils, garbanzos, corn, Brussels sprouts, lamb’s quarters (the herb Chenopodium album, also known as pigweed), most nuts (except almonds and coconut), grains (not millet), and wheat gluten (used in kibble recipes). Once the pH is regulated, the urine pH should be checked at least twice a year. If a cat shows signs of pain or straining while using the litter box, immediate veterinary attention should be sought. It is important to not supplement the cat’s diet with urinary acidifiers unless it is actually needed because a too acidic pH can cause a different kind of stone to form (calcium oxalate stones).
Good letter. I’ve already engaged my entire family. All but one think I’m nuts. I’m so insane I’m not allowed to be alone with my grandkids!
