Two people were shot outside the Long Island home of GOP gubernatorial candidate Rep. Lee Zeldin on Sunday while his teenage twin daughters were at home, he confirmed to The Post.
“My daughters Mikayla and Arianna were doing homework on the first floor,” said Zeldin, who was not home at the time. “They heard the shots. Boom! They went upstairs and locked themselves in the bathroom.
“They’re freaked out,” the congressman said.
The Suffolk County pol, who is running on a tough-on-crime platform, said the two people who were shot were taken to Long Island Community Hospital.
“I don’t know who was shot,” Zeldin said, adding that he is still awaiting details.
He said his front porch, where he was interviewed by The Post on Saturday, “is now part of the crime scene.
“The local police have cordoned off the area,” he said.
Zeldin’s twins, 16, called 911 from the home around 2:20 p.m., police said.

Crime sure gets politicians attention when it shows up at their doors.
I don’t think Zeldin needs to have a show up on his doorstep. He is quite aware.

Is this guy a politician? If not I can understand the shooting outside his residence. Otherwise if he’s a Pol for real he would never live in a crime ridden area, he’d have exploited enough to pay for a place in a better neighborhood.
There is gang activity on Long Island. Our southern border should be closed. We have no idea who is coming across it, or why. We have hucksters and liars running our government. Vote these clowns out before you and yours become victims.

He’s a member of congress who is running for the position of NYS Governor. He lives in a very nice area of Suffolk County in Long Island.

Suffolk County will strike back? Back when I was there they controlled the carting. If you controlled rubbish, you controlled the county. The mob kept the crime rate down.
