My mother was one of those people who died of the flu that year. I had begged her to take probiotics. I had bought probiotics and other things for my father over the years. Neither one of them moved much. They were both obese. I try to be sure to keep moving when I have a bad cold so pneumonia doesn’t set in.
I’m considered the nut in my family. But I’m also the thin one who got “carded” for years after turning 21 and still does once in a while. And they marvel at all the stuff I’ve been able to do with working on the house and how much energy I have that they never thought I’d have and how I recovered from what they were sure was long Covid. You’d think it would occur to them that maybe all the “junk” I take has something to do with it.
They just sneer at me when I drink my yucky pine needle tea and such and think I am some sort of masochist torturing myself with the taste. My complaint about such teas is usually that they don’t have enough of a taste at all. My sense of taste has fully recovered from Covid.

green suited cops asked me to turn my Q Shirt inside out, then moved on...
(but I had planned for that contingency...)
I wore that thin UV blocking Yellow shirt under the Q shirt, just in case I had to simulate compliance. As it turned out, the black clad SS let me in, cause their operation was conducted under a shade canopy. Sunlight is needed to see the Q thru that shirt.

During the Bush era, I woke up to not only what Bush was, but learned first hand in the check out line how the wonderful, hard working Mexican immigrants were supporting themselves. Our dime amigos, Our dime.
In the check out line with my package of hamburger helper and some ground beef to feed us until we both got paid, I noticed the people in front of me were preparing for a BBQ. They had several thick T-Bones, Chips, Coke, a whole lotta stuff.
I actually smiled thinking how nice it would be to have a BBQ, but times were hard, we just couldn’t afford it. I certainly didn’t hold a grudge against those who could.
Then they pulled out the FOOD STAMPS to pay for it. I was inwardly enraged. My husband was working two jobs and I did 40 hours myself, to pay our mortgage, gas, electric, food…everything. And here these —————- Mexicans were spending at least part of my wages on their BBQ.
That’s not the only story. There was also the Mexican lady and her gaggle of kids who paid for $200 worth of food with the EBT card and when the cashier asked if she wanted the receipt, she was “no”, “ I don’t need it” I told the cashier that I’d take the receipt since I was one of the people who paid for her groceries. Bet she was hard working….having kids.
I could go on, but /rant.
