During the Bush era, I woke up to not only what Bush was, but learned first hand in the check out line how the wonderful, hard working Mexican immigrants were supporting themselves. Our dime amigos, Our dime.

In the check out line with my package of hamburger helper and some ground beef to feed us until we both got paid, I noticed the people in front of me were preparing for a BBQ. They had several thick T-Bones, Chips, Coke, a whole lotta stuff.

I actually smiled thinking how nice it would be to have a BBQ, but times were hard, we just couldn’t afford it. I certainly didn’t hold a grudge against those who could.

Then they pulled out the FOOD STAMPS to pay for it. I was inwardly enraged. My husband was working two jobs and I did 40 hours myself, to pay our mortgage, gas, electric, food…everything. And here these —————- Mexicans were spending at least part of my wages on their BBQ.

That’s not the only story. There was also the Mexican lady and her gaggle of kids who paid for $200 worth of food with the EBT card and when the cashier asked if she wanted the receipt, she was “no”, “ I don’t need it” I told the cashier that I’d take the receipt since I was one of the people who paid for her groceries. Bet she was hard working….having kids.

I could go on, but /rant.

The immigrant desire to get off welfare dissolved during Jorge Bush’s tenure.

There are still those who honor familia and hard work.
Wet-foot/dry-foot Cubans in Miami.
The children of farm workers.

But then , these are 1st generation immigrants that want to improve themselves so their children can have a better life.

I agree 100% or more! With Trump as President, all legal immigrants had to prove they were self-supporting. And there weren’t any (or hardly any once the wall was mostly up) illegals.

You’ll be pleased to know that when Mohammed comes over here with his 3 wives, he puts two of them up in public housing, signs them up for food stamps, and let’s us pay for both households as he continues to impregnate them and bang out baby after baby so we can continue to feed, house and clothe all of his households.
