Cops view their police dogs like fellow officers and partners.

I know. As I said, “Don’t mess with da dawg”. My wife used to have a mobile grooming business. One of her clients was a Police dog who was a malinois

Yet your dogs are nuisances to be put down at their whim.

“Cops view their police dogs like fellow officers and partners”

They are.....a K-9 officer is no different than a human one.

The idiot might as well of pointed it at the cop.

A while back here 3 thugs got in a chase with the police, crashed their stolen car and shot a police dog.......none of those knuckleheads survived the shootout....but the K-9 officer survived.

And that’s your feel good happy ending story of the day.

Except when they leave them in hot cars to die, and then miraculously they aren’t charged with murdering a police officer. Almost like they have a double standard.

It could reasonably be argued the guy threatened the cops’ first line of defense and they were next, ergo self defense. As the perp was white, well ...

I view my dogs as partners and part of my family too, but if I shoot a cop trying to shoot my dog I'm guessing things won't turn out the same. This actually happened not far from here, and the guy who shot the cop went away to the big house for a long time. (Cops were investigating a call in the neighborhood, entered his property, shot his dog for no good reason, so he shot them).

We either live by the same set of rules or we don't. If their dogs are equal to human lives and they can shoot to protect them, then we citizens should have the same right. If they can shoot a criminal who attacks them and not get locked up, then we should have the same right. One standard for us all.
