The Bexar County sheriff launched a criminal investigation Monday into the transfer of migrants by plane from San Antonio to Martha’s Vineyard by Florida’s governor amid rising migration.
Border Patrol arrest figures, released Monday, show numbers almost topped out at 2 million, on pace for an annual record with only one month remaining in the fiscal year. Border Patrol arrests at the southern border had previously hit 1.6 million for 2000 and 1.7 million last year. At the end of August that number was 1,977,769.
Monday afternoon, Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said he has opened up a criminal investigation against the individual or individuals who “lured under false pretenses” 48 newly arrived migrants in San Antonio to fly to Martha’s Vineyard last week.
“Here we have 48 people who were already on hard times, and they were here legally in our country at that point ... and I believe they were preyed upon,” said Salazar in a news conference. “They were just made fools of and were subjected to a video op, a photo op.”
Salazar said they have the names of suspects, but he didn’t disclose them. The migrants have said they were promised jobs, housing and food. But Salazar said they were used “for nothing more than political posturing.”
DeSantis’ communications director, Taryn Fenske, on Monday evening emailed a terse reply about the Bexar County sheriff’s investigation. She referenced the tragic smuggling accident in June in which several migrants died.

“Unless the MA national guard has abandoned these individuals, they have been provided accommodations, sustenance, clothing and more options to succeed following their unfair enticement into the United States, unlike the 53 immigrants who died in a truck found abandoned in Bexar County this June.”

I live in Bexar County. I would love to say he’s an embarrassment, but he’s pretty typical of our elected officials, both City and county. I exclude our probate judges, who are extremely well-qualified despite being Democrats.
Not unless they already had their hearing to determine that. Which they didn't.
Depends on your motivation, dna, equity-score, and political party. (Also what party controls the state/county/city. Did I get it right?
These people need to be deported. ALL of them.
I wish I would start hearing more politicians say so.
Sounds like “they” got to him and induced him to pretend to do something
Bexar sheriff a Biden supporter:

county,
democrats acting like democrats. Drunk with power. Turning the power of law enforcement against their political enemies.
Criminals themselves, they call innocent people criminals for not thinking the same way as they do.
True...and one of the stated reasons they were removed from MV was to be closer to the courts.
Maybe he should be cleaning up San Antonio crime.
bear
that says volumes.
You would be correct.
Think of all us suckers that lived and worked here all our lives and upheld our country, and now we have fewer rights and protection than these illegals.
Yep. Here the border towns are as bad or worse than the places they came from, thanks to the invasion.
Apparently.🙄
But-whole.🤭
