Relax, Jonathan.
This was liberal paranoia on steroids. On his Sunday Show on MSNBC this week, saying that the prospect of a constitutional convention, something advocated by many conservatives and Republicans, "scared the hell out of me," and really "blew my mind," Jonathan Capehart actually expressed this concern:
"The one thing that folks need to understand is any rights that have been granted under the Constitution, even as an amendment, such as granting full U.S. citizenship to the former slaves, would be up for grabs in a constitutional convention!
"And with the way folks [i.e., conservatives] are acting right now, I wouldn't put it past them during the constitutional convention to go back to calling me three-fifths of a person."

Always the victim of some imiganed oppressor...
Well said. Liberals revel in making themselves out to be victims: real or imagined.
MSNBC has become nothing more than racist, bigoted, gaslighting central. In short, a Leftist haven and cesspool for utter idiocy.
He is only 3/5 of a person if you consider the size of his brain.
The white, liberal racists in Martha’s Vineyard just voted the brown illegal aliens off the island. Don’t go to the vineyard Capehart. You might get lynched by a Karen.
“apophenia” sent me scrambling to an online dictionary. Very apt!
“The tendency to perceive a connection or meaningful pattern between unrelated or random things, giving rise to conspiracy theories.”
Well “three fifths of a person” sure beats being a dumbass employee for MSNBC, IMHO.
Apparently he fails too see that if the democrats had their choice, he would have remained livestock.
“go back to calling”
The only people in this country who can go back to racism are the Democrats. The Democrats were the party of slavery, the party of Jim Crow, the party of the KKK and the party of lynching.
The Republicans were founded as the party of freedom and equality, and have always been the party of freedom and equality. We have always opposed treating people differently on account of skin color. The Democrats used to be racist against black people and, today, they’re racist against white people. For a relatively brief time, they were for treating people equally. But, looking back, that time of equality was merely a time of transitioning from hating one group of people to hating another group of people.
Hate warps your mind. It causes you to see things that aren’t there. For example, thinking that the Republicans have the legacy of racism that is the legacy of, and is now again the Democratic Party.
Umm...excuse me? This type of thinking reveals a total lack of understanding of what this country is about and disqualifies the speaker from making any comment whatsoever...IMHO.
Another ignorant, black racist who has no idea what the 3/5 Compromise was about.
Astonishing. Wears a suit and tie, puts his face on television, and displays his ignorance for all to see.
Are they really that stupid? Maybe they should lose their vote. /s
WILLFUL BIAS & STUPIDITY! People like him KNOW the truth, they also know that this IDIOT SCREED still has wings and nobody at these propaganda outlets will blink at it.
I will not live (I fear) to see the end of this 'victimhood' meme that empowers the LEFT. It is very insidious as being hard to contradict when no one calls it out and there is the history behind it.
DISGUSTING!
He is claiming victim status because he is black, but he should be claiming victim status because he is stupid.
Yep. We gonna put ‘em all back in chains! For sure!
Well, Jonathan, you are a little light in the loafers. Is that what you are afraid of?
My thoughts exactly.....
On the other hand, think of the marketing opportunity for a certain private sector company: "Bank at 5/3 and multiply yourself into a full person!!!!"
True words
capehart the brainiac
the 3/5ths was a victory for the abolitionists
if slaves were counted as 1 person the slaveholding south would have more representation in congress
