European governments have had decades to construct and deploy solar panels and windmills, and didn't (at least not enough to at least supply enough power for home electric heaters). Yet they went ahead with Electric Vehicle mandates, which are powered by (mostly) fossil fuels.
With EVs, consumers must purchase expensive vehicles, consider the problems with charging at home or locating charging stations (which must be constructed) and more considerations.
It will soon be obvious to the general public that supplying 'Green' power to homes is relatively simple; construct the solar panels and windmills, distribute the power and you're done.
But since the governments didn't/ couldn't accomplish that task, something doesn't add up.
I think there is real fear that the Europeans could suffer massively if we have a cold winter in a few months. The prospect of many thousands dead from the effect of cold can’t be discounted.
I talked a couple of weeks ago to someone who just came back from Europe where she was visiting her mother.
She said people are terrified and panicked about what winter will bring.

Probably not.
Conservatives adjust their policies as new information comes in.
Liberals ignore any new information, and continue with their fantasies until they go right off a cliff.
The European winter of 2022 - 2023 will be tough. But I don’t think it will be enough to wake up either the ruling elite or the brainwashed sheep.
Because for liberals it’s always, “Don’t worry about these temporary problems. Next time it will be better.”

Fortunately for Europe, noted energy genius Greta Thunberg has already chimed in. She is urging the EU to take steps to limit the burning of wood (not kidding).
I’ll bet Klaus Schwab will sleep warm and comfy.
