You know, I actually feel kind of bad for them. The idea that such an unremarkable small bridge would have a red ribbon cutting dignitary ceremony says as much as it’s failure.
We shouldn’t be cruel to those people, but we should pay attention to not buy into the idea that people like that have answers for us either.
That is how we got the bridge failure in Miami

Chinese Engineering?
That does not even look like a real bridge, more like a stage for the photo op.

Pitiful. Just pitiful.

Watched the video. So the ribbon was what was holding the whole thing together?

That was hysterical. What did they build the bridge from? Chewing gum and string? All the funnier for aggrandizement of having an official cut a tape on it, then the immediate collapse.

The security personnel immediately rush to the spot and drag the woman from the falling bridge. After the one Black guy seems to push her aside to save his own skin.

They should have used a flatbed railcar. They make good bridges for crossing small channels.

Next time build the bridge entirely with that ribbon. Problem solved.

colonial infrastructure isn’t so easy to replace is it?
To: dynachrome
Did the engineers design it using “decolonized” math?

“The inauguration would have been complete with the cutting of a red ribbon tied at one end of the bridge.”
I wouldn’t do that if I were you. That’s a load bearing ribbon.
