EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners
DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.
From FaceBook:
Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more

Well that’s a pretty darn productive day! Especially the door part.
Well, it was the second coat for the door. I had to sand it in between coats, so this one looks a lot better. I’m just not going to break my back on it. It was left a mess by a former tenant who had a dog, and then the threshold was changed, causing the door to pull on the hinges, and it took me the better part of a year to get the door and threshold replaced.
It was a white door, and all I heard from the Yard Guys who were installing it was how expensive it was. It didn’t come out of their pockets so why were they complaining to me? Anyway, I offered to paint it, if the manager preferred (I didn’t want the Yard Guys in my house, thanks) and so here we are at today.
Not a hard job. Just a pain in the backside. But it’s done and if they want the inside of it painted, they can do it when I move out.
Yeah, well, you know the old saying: If it weren’t for my bad luck, I’d have no luck at all! I was never any good at card games...
Hooey!
Evening.
Painted the front door last year, nextdoor’s landlord was moaning about it .
BS is everything with the rental market.
Okay ,no problem.
British racing green it now is. Really thin paint, took 4 coats.
The windows are Tamya rattle can white. Takes seconds, lasts a decade. :)
Found a church today that sells coffee between services.
Never has a church been so full.
And i quote: :” Our Coffee is just Devine”.
Rebuilt 1505. Because medieval is just so yesterday.
Repaired 1667, Some fire or other.
Totally renovated 1956. German redecoration disaster.
Like the episode of MI-5/Spooks where the crew from the Grid painted a door bright blue, then gigged him on it, then painted it bright orange; shut off his water; started car alarms blaring... What fun!
I’m in Series 7 now, and they seem to have given up on the humor, and that’s too bad.
Today’s paint job was red, to match everyone else’s door. I would have preferred a white one, so I left the indoor side unpainted. This paint is so thick it didn’t even drip off the brush. If they want it painted, they can do it when I leave! :o])
How are you doing, Moosie?
“Halp! I’m treed and I can’t git down!”
Good morning. I hope you had a good night!
Mine was split up again. Darn, that’s disheartening. I want some unbroken sleep.
Today is the Great Inspection and I’m missing a smoke alarm. Although why an apartment this size would need two smoke alarms is beyond me.
Back and forth, back and forth... The Foursies are ahead again.
I’m still not sure how it’s done, but at least most of the gray lint is gone.

No, I didn’t have a good night, but I’ll live. Pain, cat, other person yelling ...
I’m leaving for the physical therapist in a few minutes. Tell your management to fix the smoke alarm!
I went to a Church once that had a breakfast bar in the “sanctuary.” People ate during the service.
I didn’t go twice. It wasn’t all that full.
Good morning. Happy Humph Day!
It was surprisingly warm this morning - low 50s. I guess the overnight cloud cover did the trick. The phone said light rain for the dog walk but it didn’t, so that was OK.
Another surprising trey.

I’m sorry your night was so disrupted. I complain about insomnia, but that’s minor, in perspective.
I hope you find more relief at the therapist’s.
As for the smoke alarm, they will probably gig me for it and charge me for a new one.
Good job!
We’re at 46° again this morning, with a high in the low 80s foregnosticated, although Saturday is supposed to be only in the low 70s.
If I’m going to be cold, I want to be in Utah to experience it. Otherwise, let me go back to Vegas where it only has two seasons — summer and Christmas. At least there I can be warm.
Jeez.
I feel better after the physical therapist, not as clobbered as on Monday. I plan to spend the next few days not doing dumb stuff! And maybe I’ll get a nap later.
DP was dreaming about Sally. I assume it was a disaster, because Sally.
Such a beautiful kitteh! Reminds me of a lovely cat I had for several years when I was a young adult. She was quite a character.
I like pictures of cats in trees. Jake used to climb trees before he got old and fat.
Praying for your pain to subside. I hope the PT can make it happen. 🙏
Way to go on the three! 👍👍
